My DD uses both. Her sippy cups are the straw ones only though. She has been on them kind since she was 18 months. I just don't want to deal with the mess but she is good with a regular cup.

My daughter is able to drink from a real cup, I switched her from bottle to sippy cup when she was 1 and from sippy cup to real cup alittle before she was 2. You should try those little cups with Dora or her favorite character on them and put her favorite drink in there and i'm sure she will drink it....

i started my son on regular cups by letting him use one in the bathtub. and when hes not in the tub i make sure he stays in the kitchen and only gets water. water is easy to clean up! lol but you just have to hang in there and be patient! they will spill it many times but thats how they learn.

My daughter uses a sippy cup or straw cup. I hadnt even thought about getting her to use regular cups till the other day i was at my friends house who has a daughter the same age as mine and she handed my daughter some juice in a regular cup, i instantly grabbed up afraid that my daughter would spill it all over my friends floor...i had to ask my friend if she had a sippy cup or a straw cup...it was then that i thought i may need to start getting her used to regular cups, but i havnt started yet.

my daughter drinks from a cup she dont like sippy cups. its good 2 teach her to drink from a cup because when there i no sippy cup around she might not want nothing to drink if she dnt have her sippy cup.

We use the cups with straws. (like the ones at restaurants.) If we give him a cup, he will eventually space out and start tipping it until it spills. Meals, he uses a cup at the table. ... My son never got the hang of sippy cups. He would get mad and throw them.

My daughter uses cups. I threw out the sippy cups when she was about 18 months. She was always excited about using her "big girl cups" which helped. She made messes at first, but how else are they suppose to learn? Just keep paper towels handy and also, you can buy the kid size, hard plastic cups. You can get the cups from Walmart, Target, etc.

My son usually just uses a cup. I don't let him take a cup anywhere but kitchen.

my 2 year old still only uses a sippy cup. He has not had a bottle since his 1st birthday. I will continue to use sippy cups to avoid any spills until he masters the concept of taking little sips from a regular cup.

My son drinks from a cup. He is only allowed drinks in the kitchen. We do have sippy cups to take for stroller rides to the park , car rides, and various outings where you don't want an open cup around to get spilled or have bugs land in it.

My daughter drinks from cups at all times, but one problem.... her bottle (milk bottle) occupies her mouth most of the time. Don`t know what to do to get rid of it. lol

My child does both. Sippy cups on outings, around the house, car
rides... but drinks out of a cup at meal times when seated in her
chair

Mine does both, but I am thinking of getting rid of the sippy cups altogether. The problem is it is still comforting to her when she is tired.

My son drinks from a cup. I threw all his sippy cups out in Jan. He is only allowed drinks in the kitchen, so if he spills a little of it, it is easily cleaned up. He knows the rules and follows them very well *knock on wood* I started giving him a cup at meal times in his high chair and when he got used to using them thats when i threw out his sippy cups.

My son uses a bottle (not a babies milk bottle) for general use during the day but uses a normal cup at meals time and if there is no other option.

what i do with my girl is inside the house i will give her a sippy cup because of spills and every opportunity outside i give her a cup ,as she got more confident because of practice she can have it in the house, it is good for her to drink out of a cup as it helps for when you are out
