I thought about how neat it would be to have a Leap Day baby but never really thought about it again until that morning when my contractions began. Why must everyone joke about "having a birthday every four years" EVERY time I tell them that his birthday is February 29, 2008 as if they are the first one to think about that?

My husband was convinced that would be a great birthday, too. Our son was due 2-22, and since I was a week late with my first one, he was convinced that our son would be born then When my due date rolled around, my doc scheduled an induction for the 29th. I had mixed thoughts. Then, my son came on the 25th on his own. Thank goodness! (I didn't want to be induced). You should think of some smart-aleky thing to say back to the people who tell you that. Something like, "maybe he won't get to looking old so fast, like you." I guess that's more rude than smart aleky, but hey, it might shut them up!
