Hi everyone,

Welcome to the February 2008 Babies community, where we chat about our February 2008 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely February 2008 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

Hi! I'm Amy and my son, Peyton, was born on Feb 19th. Peyton came a few weeks early, so he ended up arriving EXACTLY nine months after our wedding day! My husband and I were married on May 19, 2007! Peyton is our honeymoon baby! He is running, jumping, climbing, and talking up a storm. He has entire conversations with himself. If only we knew what he was saying ;-)
Can you believe our babies are turning TWO next month?!?!?!

Hi. I'm Tiffany. Zachary was born on Feb 28th. He is the youngest of four. He is certainly the most explorative of all my kids. Into everything. He's not talking. I don't think he ever will????? He understands everything we say to him because he follows directions...but is NOT interested in the speaking part. Can't wait to chat with other Moms of Feb 08 kids

Hi, My name is Amy.. I am 31 and married. My husband and I own a restaurant, he's the chef and I work from home doing the books. We had our first baby on 25th Feb 08.. a little boy "Riley". He is the most beautiful little monkey, we love him to bits. I can't wait for him to put sentances together. He says Mummy, Dada, Nana, Poppa, Juice, Ta, Elmo (actually says Elbow) and heaps of other little things. He helps me hang out the washing - passes me every bit of clothing with a "Ta" while I peg it up and he loves unpacking the dishwasher - he even knows where everything goes.. I don't let him do the glasses but he just loves to help with whatever I am doing... He learns so fast - I can teach him 5 new things a day and he'll still remember the next day. He's such a placid and gentle little thing, my little treasure. We are currently trying for a little brother or sister for Riley... hope it happens soon! I can't wait!

Hi, I'm Aneatra. I'm 34 and my daughter MiKaela is 23months (2.1.08). After five years of pseudo trying and 3 months of REALLY trying (with fertility help), we got pregnant on our second cycle of Clomid. MiKaela is very strong willed and energetic. She loves music and dances all the time. She also loves to color on any and everything...our furniture included. She's not big on talking yet, babbles constantly in her own language. We are working on sleeping through the night and potty training. I'm an RN, working full time and fiance is also a nurse but is a SAHD.

Hi my name is Audri and I have a very active little girl Darcy that was born Valentines Day 2008. I also have a 5 1/2 month old little girl born on my birthday July 17th. Darcy loves to play pretend, talk to her "friends" (stuffed animals/dolls) and host tea parties all day. She also enjoys building with her blocks and to our surprise cleaning them up. Darcy, even as a baby did not like being wet. When she realized what that feeling was she decided to try out the potty chair we had in the bathroom. We took a day to train and within a week she mastered the potty chair. She is still wets when she sleeps but during the day has had less than a handful of accidents in the last 2 months. She is a great big sister and a blessing to our family.

My name is Anita, I am 34. My second child, Kenneth, was born of Feb 28th. He is a happy, affectionate boy that I just adore. He suffers from constipation and acid reflux. Even though they are reletively mild aflictions, they ahve bad serious effects on my son. He is now for the first time over the 25th percentile in weight. WOOHOO. He has an amazing doctor. She is great at letting me be the freaked out mom and letting me know when I need to be truly worried. Whew.

I am a special education teacher of autistic children. For the most part my chidlren seem easy to deal with. Since I am a working mom, my son is in daycare. Not my favorite part of our life.

Kenneth loves to color or write in general. He loves toys and all food. He does not watch tv at all yet. Other than a passing glance, he would rather play with a box or empty tube. He has an amazing bond with his sister, Lillianna, 7. He calls her Lalla.

She gets in to more trouble than my other 3 combined at her age! She loves to explore and has already figured out 2 different cabinet lock systems! So far the 3rd she hasn't been able to open, though she did just learn how to open doors!! Have child proof door knobs on most we will see how long it takes her to figure them out! She is a delight to have and I don't think i could love (or spoil) her more if I tried! She talks all the time and loves to get into her big sisters toys!

Hello mommies,

My name is Mari. I'm 31 yrs old with two girls, Kira - 3yrs & Seri - 20months. Seri was born on 2/21/2008 just one week before my birthday! Seri learns everything from her sister, so she is growing up super fast. She can count till 15, sing ABC song completely, have conversations, and soon-to-be diaper free. She, of course, is getting tougher and tougher to deal with - many "no"s & tantrum :( It is not easy to raise two small kids (their ages apart only 17months), but I have a wonderful husband and friends who support me every moment. I'm looking for more friends to share many parenting ideas and supports here. Hope I can be a good friend to you, too.

Hope ALL of our kids are having a great holiday season & new year!!

Hello all! I am Adriana and I have 2 daughters, Melania and Faithe. Faithe is my February baby. She was born Feb 22, 2008. She was supposed to be born May 26, 2008 but the little stinker decided she wanted to come ealier, 14 weeks too early. She was born at 26 weeks, weighed 1lb 13oz and 13inches long. She spend 99days in the hospital and come home on her due date. She is perfectly healthy, all her docs are suprised at how well she is doing and developing. She is still very small compared to kids her age, even when you correct her age. She maybe small but she sure makes it up in personality and attitude. Since the day she was born she had been my little fighter with a lot of fire and drive. I think having an older sister has really helped her progress as she always wants to keep up to her and do everything her sis does. They definately thrive off eachother. I am thankful and grateful everyday to have my 2 little angels because I wouldn't know what i would do without them. They are my world, my soul. they have taught me so much. Who would have know that such a little being can teach you so much. I can say that my experience with Faithe has taught me to appreciate my kids so much more, especially on the days they cause me grief. LOL. I hug and kiss them everyday and when I do that I always have the thought in my head of how lucky I am to have both of them with me. All kids are such blessings and miracles!

He is always being silly and enjoys being the center of attention. He has quite the vocabulary but not making full sentences yet. He is the strongest toddler I have ever met, and loves to pick up heavy objects and carry them around the house. We will soon be starting to potty train as Chase has shown many signs that he is interested and possibly ready. Chase is a true blessing and we are thankful for everyday we have with him! He brings more meaning to life and reminds us on a daily basis to charish the memories we create as a family.

He is very healthy and happy, and will be a big brother in June. He was a breast milk only baby. He wasn't able to go to breast until he was four months, and now has only been reduced to nursing once or twice a day b/c of possible health concerns for this pregnancy. Both my doctor and I are sad about it, (especially my son), but it's for the best.

Hi, my Feb '08 baby is also named Madison! So I thought I would reply. It's fun looking back through everyone's responses about what their "babies" (i.e. toddlers) are doing now! Madison is a wonderful child and really good and easygoing *most* of the time, but she's starting to test us with little things here and there, and I tell ya, it's wearing me down!!! She's not great with the word "no" or "sharing." Also, I am still breastfeeding but would like to wean and lately she is waking up at night wanting "mommy milk," after going months and months without waking up. She'll scream and cry until I nurse and then she instantly falls back asleep. I don't know if it is a phase, a tooth coming in, or what. Sigh. Any suggestions, feel free to respond! Otherwise she is a very happy and healthy little girl!

By the way, I am 36, was a stay at home mom but went back to work in Aug and she goes to daycare 3 days a week while I work at home 2 days. She's a great napper still, at home and at daycare. She seems to enjoy the daycare so far so good. It's hard not to feel guilty about it but I do like working and earning money again too.

Nice to meet everyone on here!

Always running around the house since he discovered he could commute faster by running rather than walking. Talks a lot especially in our mother tongue. He makes sure he says almost all words both in English as well as in our language when he is talking. Loves to collect small rocks, sticks and acorn. Big fan of water - swimming pool, ponds etc. These days I see him getting angry over my NOs. Not often but occasionally he comes back at me.
