My 14 month old son won't drink milk from a sippy!

I tried just a bit of sugar free, fat free chocolate milk in my 14 month olds sippy, (which is a soft spout Nuby) and he took it right away...depending on how many other milk products your baby has in a day, he may only need the milk at night in the bottle. I would just stick with trying to get him to eat yogurt and cheese more during the day and maybe some Kefir ( it's a drinkable yogurt that my kids LOVE!). He'll probably grow out of it soon anyway. My son had a ridiculous time switching from breast to bottle, but he got it within a few weeks...just hang in there!!

What I did was, i put milk in a cup and no longer gave him his bottle. He cried and hated it but it no time, he realized that he wasn't going to get the bottle anymore and just took the cup. It's tough watching your son cry but I guarantee you, he'll get use to the idea..especially if he doesn't see the bottle anymore.

My advice is patience. My son is also 14 months, and he just recently started drinking his milk from a cup. He uses a Nuby, the kind with a straw, or just a regular cup with a straw, but at first when I would give it to him he would take a sip and then throw it on the floor. But now he has no problem with them, I think it just takes some getting used to.

My son went on a 4 day long sippy strike. His feeding therapist said that most kids just give up and take the sippy after a few days. I gave in after 4 days of him not taking more than 4oz a day! On a whim we tried a straw cup and he did it! We are now working on going completely to straw cups. You might give it a shot. My son loves them. I'm glad he does too, because I was losing alot of money buying all kinds of sippy cups and he hated them all. Good Luck!

my sister inlaw had a problem getting her son to drink from a sippy cup. especially when he saw his baby brother with a bottle. a friend suggested to her feeding him things that would make him thirsty till he drank. and it worked. saltines and peanut butter! after 2 days of not drinking (he got fluids from other food sources I'm sure and she's a pedi nurse so i'm sure he was ok) he got the hint and never looked back at a bottle. just another suggestion.

I've tried to add ovaltine/chocolate to his milk as well and to my suprise he didn't like it! So I recently bought strawberry mix to mix into the milk. So I'm gonna see if he likes that! I am gonna keep trying and see how it goes! I really want to get him off the bottle! My son also uses a binky(pacifier) so I want to do one thing at a time and I want the bottle to go first then his binky will be gone before he is two! Fingers Crossed!!

my little girl didn't drink milk from a sippy cup for a while. I wasted alot of milk, but i just kept trying. then, after saying I wouldn't do this, I added a teeny bit of ovaltine to the milk and poof! she was suddenly interested. after a few days i decreased the amount of ovaltine and now she drinks plain whole milk from her sippy cup. now i am drinking the ovaltine. she also seems to like the nuby sippy cup the best. unfortunately i find it leaks.

Yeah he has the nuby as well as the hard spout sippy cups. He drinks all of his liquids ie: water, juice from those. He just won't take milk out of anything but the bottle! I'm trying to wean off of the bedtime bottle but he won't take his milk any other way!

Have you tried using a different type of cup? When I switched my son to cups I used the Nuby cups that had a straw. Nuby also has sippy cups that have a soft, nipple like spout as well. My son liked that as well. Once he got more experience I started introducing sippy cups with hard spouts.
