My daughter has rotavirus. Has anyone else been through this??

My daughter was diagnosed with having rotavirus 2 1/2 weeks ago but she has been having the symptoms for just over 4 weeks. I'm wondering if anyone else's child/children have had this virus and how long it lasted for them? She was also tested for bacterial infections because the doctor thought that may have been why she was still no better but the results came back negative.

My son just got over it..my son's doctor is on at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital so hes pretty good in my book I have never had a problem with him. When my son had it it lasted on and off for two weeks after the main symptoms went away..he said that he has had a few patients recently that have had it four weeks..it just depends on the kid..if you think your doctor may be wrong you have the right to get a second oppinion. I have done that a few times when it comes to my sons pulmanary doctor. Hope she gets to feeling better..that virus is horrible. My husband and I actually caught it too and my sons doctor caught it from my son..gotta love that..

yes my son had it about 8 months ago, and he was sick for almost a month. the fever and all went away after the first week but the diarrea lasted almost 4 weeks....it was nasty and we had to postpone potty training..it sucks when they get something like this and you can do nothing but let it runs its course..just push fluids..

Both my 2 & 1yr had it and it only suppose to last a week. Fever can last 5days but when the rash comes the fever should go and the rash is only suppose to last 3-5days max. Atleast that's my doctor told.
