Why are you waiting?
My dother also 2 years, and we don't use daipers since last awgust,so if I can train 18 monts baby to use it in day time,or in night time -so your baby can learn it now!
Just ware them panties, let them pee htem for coplle off times, and they will now that that is not nice to do!(Just wait for hotter days)

Admittedly, we are a bit ahead of the pack on this because we've been EC'ing since our little guy was 3 days old so now @ 2 he's totally potty trained (and has been for a while). Our first son was toilet trained the normal way and there is a night and day difference in how easy it was to get our younger little guy potty trained.
My advice is to just talk a lot about toileting with your little one, make the process a normal part of your day. Don't push. Make it fun. Never punish. Expect to get frustrated. If there's an older sibling talk about how they use the toilet. Talk about how everyone in your family uses the toilet. Get a doll that can pee on the potty and have your little one potty train the doll. Remind yourself that most children are able to graduate high school out of diapers. ;-) Your little one will potty train at the schedule that best suits them. Best wishes...

I'm in the same boat as Rachel, my son is showing an intrest in the potty but never actually uses it. We sit him on the big potty when he says he needs to go and he grunts and says "pee in the potty... Oh!!! Pee in the potty..." lol and im waiting for the day he does use it so i can reward himand show him thats a very good thing but it hasn't happened yet. So I've been thinking of doing the same thing, wait til summer and let him go without a diaper. I do know that punishing is a no-no, only reward.

My son is starting to show an interest, he likes to sit on his potty before his baths but he won't actually use it. I've decided to wait until summer when the weather is warmer then he is going to go without a diaper. I'm hoping that after he pees himself a few times that he won't like being wet so he will use his potty and not just play with it.

My daughter plays with the idea but im waiting until she is two and half. She doesn't want to poop on the toilet because it is yucky. I think the best thing is to be consistent and very rewarding my daughter loves the praise she gets for using the potty. My last thought is bring her in the bathroom with you and put her on her potty while you use yours. good luck
