he kicks off his blankets in the night and it can sometimes get quite cold in his bedroom..when can i buy him a proper duvet?

I was told from 1 year on they can have proper duvet. I purchased a cot duvet for my daughter when she was 1 and she has been fine. She now has a single sized duvet but with a medium/low tog rating and she is 4 in a couple of weeks. My son also had a cot duvet when he turned 1. Both being winter babies they needed it lol x

My 23 month old loves his down comforter (with duvet cover...is that what you ment?). We switched him to twin sized bed this last month and when we did we gave him the big fluffy blanket for his bed. At this age they are able to pull up thier own covers and kick them off without much trouble. I think you can switch him whenever he has a bed big enough to accomidate the bigger blanket!
