10 months and not crawling yet

just give him time my little boy is 10 months old he just started crawling good put some toys in the floor with him and lay down on the floor with him and play thats what i did they say not to worry about thenm crawling or walking unless they are a little bit over a year old

Hi Johnnie: I work with infants and toddlers. It is definitely a good idea to continue lots of tummy time. He needs to work his muscles to help with his gross motor skills. It would be a good idea to make sure that he crawls before he walks. Try putting him on his tummy and putting toys a short distance in front of him to motivate him! Is he already sitting up without support?

My son is the same...he's only happy when he's standing or I'm holding him standing or walking. It's hard because I have twins and my daughter is crawling. My husband, who is a family doc, says some kids don't crawl and they go right to walking. So, no worries....

My son is the same age with your son but is not crawling yet. He is not even trying to crawl, pull himself or anything. He is about 28 lbs! His twin sister is however 13 lbs and is doing much better.

hi johnnie,
my son started crawling on his stomach doing the comando shuffle with the kick with his left foot, he was duin this for alittle while an i ws wondering if he wud ever get up on his hands an knees. he wud stand himself up on things like chairs, or boxes that was stable enuf to withstand from falling and then blow me days he started walking along the furniture wea eva he cud. he is now crawling on hands an knees an also walking along anything an everything but the one thing he won't do is walk from one couch to another, he will stand, crawl an stand again. he does howeva let 1 hand go an hold on with the other but he just won't let go an take that step.
All im trying to say is give it time no stress, but alot of time on the floor will b gud for him. try tough love an not pick him up str8 away, because they know our baby's, that us mums will give into them, but u stay strong. I really wouldn't advise to get a walker, that jus makes them lazy if ur guna sit him in it just to get from A to B. God bless u johnnie.

don;t worry if he doesn;t crawl! my son just started crawling on Dec.13th..I to was worried where he showed no intrest in crawling and talked to his peditracian about it and she told me not to worry that all kids develope differently and some babies don;t crawl at all..your son is still young and has pleanty of time to crawl and walk, my cousin;s son didn;t walk until he was 16 months old. if you are really concerened talk to his peditrican. I see my sons pediatrician 2 times a month and talked to her about this sorta stuff and she said it all take time and not to rush it all babies are different ( for instant my son will only drink 4ozs of fornula per bottle and has done taht his entire 10 months of life! most babies drink double taht per bottle)...my son doesn;t pull himself up on his feet yet and doesn;t walk along the couch and chairs but that will soon come and I am not worried.

Get him a walker then he can practice pulling himself up and pushing it around. Then you can get a break for a bit.

Hi Johnnie. Yes, My son is not quite crawling yet. When he does pull himself up onto me to stand he is quite wobbly. He was SGA so his therapist says he is about a month behind full term babies, he almost takes 2 crawl steps, but he would rather roll to get to a toy or to where I am at. Keep working with your son on the floor. and lots of tummy time to streghthen his core muscles. All bablies will do their stuff on their own time. I know it takes a lot of time out of our days to work with our little ones on milestones, but it is worth it. I hope this helps.
