My son is 18 months old and has recently started waking up around 3am every night. He's quite content though, he's wide awake and just rolls around his cot babbling and even laughing! This goes on for 2 to 2 and a half hours! He eventually goes back to sleep of his own accord. He doesn't cry, he's just happily chatting and giggling as if he's got a friend in there lol!
I know I shouldn't moan because he isn't crying but I can't work out why it's happening. Nothing that I know of disturbs him at that time and I'm such a light sleeper I can't go back to sleep unlike my husband.
Does anyone else experience this or is my son turning into a nocturnal child?!
