For Zoie we started a savings account as her big gift, family and friends donated to the cause. She already had a ton of toy and clothes. For outside she recieved Barbie quad that she loves, and bouncing/rocking horse for in the house that she also loves. Both toys were bought with gift cards left from christmas and they were both on sale for 1/2 price. Wasn't she lucky. lol, For you thrift store shoppers yardsale are great also.

We got our son a plastic slide, that has a miniture basketball hoop, and a soccer & football goalie, as he loves to be outside. But my MIL came up with a wonderful idea, savings bonds. She got our LO a savings bond for his birthday, since Christmas was only 2 months before, and he was overloaded with toys then. That is what we will be getting him for his next bithday, and probably from here on out.

We bought her Little Tikes shadey jump and slide (moonbounce) http://www.walmart.com/ip/Little-Tikes-S... She just loves it. My sixteen year old daughter and sometimes her dad gets in there and bounce on one side and makes her bounce up and she loves it. She laughs so much at that. We also bought 250 pit balls to place in there. she like the way they bounce up and roll around. She is barely starting to throw. She had a great party that cost about $1000 or more. It was well worth the memories, to us at least. I know she will not remember. She got lots of clothes and toys.

For our twins we purchased a trunk that is currently being used as a toy box. My idea is that I will eventually use it to store all of their memories and then in the future pass it onto one of them if they want it.

and oh, you gotta love good will stores for baby toys and clothes. They outgrow them so fast, they're still nearly new! I got a fisher price activity center thingy for about $2 and a rocking horse for $10 which she loves now that her feet can touch the ground.

The Fisher Price Laugh and Learn kitchen with all accessories (Goodwill store, for $2.99) and the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Musical Chair (Goodwill store, for $1.99).

He LOVES them both, and they were virtually brand new - a great find at a thrift store for less than $6.00!!!!
