My husband and I wanna start trying for another baby. We already have a beautiful, wonderful daughter and would like to complete our family with a little boy. Anyone have any suggestions/ old wives tales, etc on how to conceive a boy? Any that have appeared to work for you, a friend, or family? I know nothing is definite and we would still be blessed if we ended up with a daughter, but it doesn't hurt to try, right? Thanks!!

Erin is exactly right!! The boys are fast, yet get there and die off quickly, The girls are slow but live longer. Monitor your ovulation!

That is what I heard too..... In other words do not do at the beginning of the ovulation cycle do it smack bang in the middle!!!! From what I remember (don't quote me) but apparently girl sperm take their time to the egg, so if you do it at the beginning they have enough time to get to the egg by the time you ovulate. Male sperm are quick and get to the egg relatively quickly so you really need to do it right on ovulation, if you do it before ovulation and the egg isn't ready the male sperm die off waiting around for the egg and the girl sperm win because by the time they get there it is all ready to go!! (who is faster the tortoise or the hare?)

I could be wrong but I think I remember hearing the closer to your time of ovulation the better your chances for a boy are. Good luck!
