What are you all getting for your babies for Christmas? We opted for a Leap Frog activity table (couldn't beat Wal-Mart's Black Friday price!) and the Fisher Price Lights 'n' Sounds Ball, classic wooden blocks, and a few stuffed animals and some clothes.

I'm already starting to think about what to get her for her first birthday, too...any ideas?

Another suggestion for your little one that is really a great investment is a top notch convertible car seat. One year olds are often outgrowing their infant seat. But keeping your little one rear facing til two is highly recommended as the safest! So get her a "convertible" for christmas or first birthday. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00834D...
This one is well rated in a side impact too. It is a gift that will last for years to come.

For us it's quality not quantity where kids toys are concerned, when ours were little all too soon the house was full of stuff that wasn't played with for very long and often ended up broken! Classic toys last generations and because they are open ended kids really do play with them for years using them as their imagination sees fit. We'd suggest a wooden cooker, shape sorters, stacking cubes, wooden animals, and push along vehicles and building blocks take a look and see what you think.. www.ptolemytoys.co.uk

My daughter just turned 10 months old a couple days ago. We bought her clothes to go into the new year. We also have family members who have sent us stuff for her her as well...toys, childrens dvd's, etc. My daughter is not interested in the traditional toys either. She is a very active, inquisitive little girl. We needed clothes for the new year as well as for now because she is wearing 12 month clothing.

I've bought my son Plenty of clothes, Shoes, and books. Leap frog my pal scout, A big Truck, wooden blocks, stacking cups, bath toy, walk and ride, leap frog guitar, and some little things. My mother keeps telling me to stop buying him toys because he's so young and he's going to outgrow them quickly, but I just can't help it. I means a lot to me to know that I gave my son a good christmas this year and every year. I wanted to make sure I did everything for him and it was very hard on my part time income.

This is a very special Christmas, even though she won't remember it. We bought the Fisher Price musical table, baby CD player, books, clothes, hand held balls ( she carries balls around all the time), shape sorter. I can't remember everything I bought lol! It will be a wonderful Christmas.

His "big" gift is a Handy Manny 3 in 1 ride on toy...it has a rocker base and safety seat for right now, handle for parents to push him around and then where he can ride by himself. We also got him a soft Tonka truck, a little people airplane, 3 different types of "shape" sorters, new pj's & clothes, new car seat, and a few more things.

I see everyone talking about the Leap Frog table...love it. We still had my daughters and my son loves it.

We purchased some of the small plastic My Truck Chuck toys, the new hide n seek blocks, small balls, pj's, cd's for bedtime and long car rides. We had a ball popper from my daughter and we drug it out the other day and he LOVES it! I would highly recommend that toy. It is cheap and highly entertaining!

I got my 10 month old daughter this Learn & Sort pelican that has the different colored shapes that fit into the pelican's mouth. It also says the shapes and colors in English, French and Spanish and plays music! Got her a 123 jigsaw puzzle book, a bubble maker for the bath tub, and clothes. Her birthday is in February and we're going to see relatives in Southern California so there will most likely be a trip to Disneyland and my relatives will give her stuff for her birthday. I also want to get her that puppy from LeapFrog called Scout that's a learning toy for children her age.

We got our little guy a ball pit, a crawl tunnel, the pop and drop train, some bath toys, some clothes, a big dump truck, a rocking tigger, and some balls. We have so many toys in the house already, I really didn't need to get so much, but I can't help but get my kids all that I can for the holidays and their birthdays. As for his first Birthday, he is getting a bog boy car seat and a few little toys.

We got our daughter clothes, shoes, a glow-worm, a leapfrog stand and play table, this little ball where you match the shapes with the wholes and put them through, a ball popper, and another ball like toy that teaches them different animals and the noises they make. My daughter absolutely loves balls and as of right now she doesn't have any but every time we go over to my friends house thats all she'll play with. I know some of these things most parents would hold off and get for their first birthdays but for her first birthday we are getting her more things to play outside. Two things we're getting for her birthday is a little tikes swing and slide and a sandbox!

We've told family members to put money in her bank account and buy something little for her from the $2 shop, sounds stingy I know but Emily's very happy playing with a roll of wrapping paper than $100 toys.

We're not getting him anything for Christmas because everyone's gonna be getting him tons of stuff. Since he has no idea what Christmas is yet. I'm planning on making him a box of 'wipes' because he loves those so much. I'm going to take an old wipes box, wash it out, then put in baby face clothes. And that will be in a box with wrapping paper he can pull off.

Honestly, at this age, I think he's more likely to be excited by unwrapping and playing with the box.

In terms of what "he's asked for" from other family, bath toys and a bath scoop are high on the list. Mostly though, we have told people to just have fun and get what they wanna get, buying toys are fun!

I posted on the other thread as to what I am actually getting...my problem is that my daughter is more active than most babies and isn't interested in the traditional baby toys. At this point (if she knew what Christmas was) she'd probably be wanting her own Wii remote and barbie dolls so that she could play with sissy...not going to happen, but her and my 10 year old are inseperable so she wants to do whatever sissy does. As for 1st birthday, I'm looking at more Little People even though we still have some from my older daughter...oh and a rocking horse, she loved them in the store now, but I am afraid she'll fall off with the rocking motion so we got her a ride on toy for Christmas instead and are saving the horse for her birthday.
