i think you should mention it to your pediatritian or if you can, talk to a developmental therapist you can usually find one through programs like help me grow, the reason im saying this is because some kids have sensory sensitivities especially if they were born early like twins tend to be. im not an expert or anything but my daughter was early so ive been educated on some of this stuff from her developmental therapist. there are some techniques you can use to help them get used things like textures etc.. its probably nothing but its worth checking into.

My girl did the same thing at first. It took a few times to get her over the fear of sand. I would put sand in my hand and let her touch it show her it was ok. Or put her on a blanket and she would poke at the sand every now and then. After a while she got used to it.
Good luck :)

My little girl didn't like it at first. But, I just kept putting her on the sand and making her walk. After a while she got used to it and now loves the beach and the water.

Simone used to HATE walking on grass, so I just put on shoes - but really nice ones that she likes showing off, now she has no issues with it. Maybe try putting on sneakers with socks so that the sand doesn't touch their feet yet. Personally I also hate walking barefoot on the beach, it creeps me out so I wear closed shoes or carry a big bag of wet-wipes to clean my feet!!

hi, i've got an 18 month old and he used to love the beach. but we didn't go for a few months and when we went not long ago he did the same thing. didn't want to walk on the sand and was scared of the waves. i just took his mind of the sand, played with a ball and gave him a shovle and a rake and after a bit he was fine. with the water i made a game out of it, i carried him to the water and always when a wave came in i protended to throw him in. he loved it.
i hope this gave you a couple of ideas, good luck with your girls.

My son didn't really like the water. He used to hate his bath and he still hates when I get his head wet to wash his hair. He is usually quite nervous whenever we go in a new pool. And he wouldn't go in the lake at all at the cottage. Scared of the big lake and waves I think.
I just kept taking him to the public pool and eventually he got comfortable and really loves it know.
We started taking things slower and not bringing him in the water unless he shows he wants to. I let him hold on to me as long as he needs.
Toys have helped too. I give him a little task in the bath or pool like ask him to fill up the bucket.
Every other baby I know seems to love water!
