Full head of hair? Hair loss? Cradle Cap?

Hey my son was born on the 19/2 and was born with a far bit of hair its only now its starting to fall out slightly on the top but his hair is long. Bicarb soda is a good trick, put it all over the affected area, get a plastic bag and tie arond the scalp making sure its away from the face, be very carefully and do not leave the child/s alone. The sweat from the scalp will mix wit the bicarb n lift the cradle cap right off and u shouldn't have a problem again.. Good Luck

My son was born on 2/25 and was born with soooo much hair, when he was about 2 months old, i noticed he had pretty bad cradle cap, then most of his hair came out only on the sides and top of his head. He is 4 months now and still has a little cradle cap and his hair is growing back just a little. And now we put oil on his hair about 30 min before bath and his pediatrician recommended using head and shoulders on his hair and it works wonders. I was a little worried at first but it really does a great job, just be careful of getting it in his eyes.

my son still has his hair fom when he was born and yes cradle cap is a nightmare. when it gets too bad i soak his head with olive oil and leave it 4 half n hour n then comb it off with a nit comb it doesnt hurt him 1 bit and its better tha all the shampoos and brushig it off with a toothbrush lol 45mins l8a n its goe :-D

My little man had a head full of auburn hair at birth and it is just now starting to thin out some. The new hair is coming in very fast. My oldest boy however was born with a head full of black hair and didnt loose his hair til he was about 5 mths old. He was bald until he was about 15mths. Never had any problems with cradle cap though.

Cradle cap is a form a dermatitis. Some babies scalps don't shed dead skin cells very well, and they can build up and develop a scaly appearance. My son has had cradle cap off and on since he was a few weeks old. for the cradle cap... try uing baby oil gel befor bath tme and then after run just a little bit of baby lotion are ceram baby oil through his hair consintrating on his roots (scalp) (haha i sound to a bottle of root lifter) really though my son had hair when he was born and thats what i did... he lost his hair at about 3 weeks, but he never had cradle cap!! good luck

Both my boys had hair - that never fell out, just got thicker. Don´t stress about that - it´s fine :) Cradle cap: make a paste of bicarb. Rub on so you rub across the affected area, and wash off. If you do this for two days [or three of REALLY bad] it will be fixed. If this doesn´t fix it, there is a cream you can get from the Paed....they prescribe it and it has to be done daily for a while. Some babies with low-immune systems are more prone to it. Some babies are genetically more prone to it. And some babies have an allergic reaction to the shampoo - my kids get cradle cap from Elizabeth Anne´s baby shampoo. [which is very sad, cos it smells DIVINE !!]

I'm sure he'll keep it now. my baby had a head full of hair, but it fell out within about 4 weeks after he was born, it only just started growing again!! he doesn't have a lot of hair, but did have a bit of cradle cap a while ago, i just used a simple moisturiser an hour or so before his bath then made sure i washed it out well, it loosens the scabby bits. seemed to do the trick. Xxx

My sons hair is crazy. He was born with a full head and now it just sticks about 4 inches up all over like hes been electricuted. It wont ever go down. Everytime someone new see's him its always "wow, look at his hair!!" started to loose a bit at the back and had cradle cap..

my daughter was born 2/19 she hair MORE hair than any baby i think i've ever see. its EXTRMELY THICK AND CURLY. NONE of it has fallen out
she had cradle cap once really bad, it was after i washed it wih some huggies hair and body wash smh never again. i asked my hair dresser lol she told mre to try not to use oil just baby hair lotion. i bought some baby love (irs for the hair). after i put on i combed her hair gentle and the flake combed out easily

The ped doc at the hospital told us that usually the hair the baby is born with will fall out by the time he is 6 months old and what comes back is usually what he will have color wise anyways...I use baby oil sparingly before bath time and then the thin baby comb. He still has dry flakes but they all grow out of it eventually...

my son has cradle cap. The best thing I have found is called Gentle Naturals Cradle Cap Care. I rub it in about an hour before his bath and then gently scrub his scalp with either the wash cloth or a baby toothbrush while in the bath tub. Then I take a baby comb and comb out the dried skin that is now in clumps in his har. It seems to work the best. I tried he baby oil too and had the same problem. My son also has very dry skin so we use Aveeno extreme moisturizer all over his body and I also rub a small amount into his scalp everyday as well. I have been doing this for about 2 weeks and it is almost gone.
