I'm just wondering... I'm about to get started. Anyway, I'd love to hear if anyone else has, and what their plans are. I LOVE planning parties, especially my kids' Birthday Parties. Birthdays are such a blessing. So far, I think I have the location picked out, and possibly the theme. I know it's going to be a Monkey theme. I'm just trying to find the cutest one. :-)

I am actually a grandmother w/custody of my (almost) two year old granddaughter. In looking for ideas for her birthday party, I decided to get together w/a few of my friends who own horses(and are indebted to me for past favors) and have a horsie party. We live in a rural area and there's not much to do. There's a small park that is the only "venue" in town, and practically everyone who has a child w/a birthday in the warmer months, has their party there.
Anyway, we're gonna be giving horse rides to the kids, led by an adult of course, for an hour or two and then have some cake and ice cream. I think that will suffice for a two year old's good time, not to mention some much needed cardio workouts for the adults who are willing to participate in the main event.

Yes! We have started planning our daughter's 2nd birthday party! My husband jokes that I start planning the following year's party the day after the current one...LOL This next year, Elise will be turning 2 on the 24th and we are planning on having a Ni Hao Kai Lan party, since she loves that show - I can't blame her! :-) We are going to have it at a local park and we are going to hang chinese laterns from the gazebo area where the party will be along with having chinese food catered from our favorite restaurant. Also I am ordering personalized fortune cookies & children's chop sticks for their goody bags (made with chinese take-out boxes :-) . I am also getting recipes for little chinese treats to make with my 2 older children so they can help me get ready for the party...I think it will turn out beautifully - depending on the weather of course...LOL If it turns out to be cold we will have it indoors in the chinese restaurant's party room. I'm also going to make a cake with all the characters...red velvet cake with marshmallow fondant...YUMMY!

I am!! Last year was a Princess theme and I invited a ton of people because it was the first birthday but this year I'm thinking of skipping on some of the people...is that ok? Do I have to invite all the same people year after year? I don't know what theme to do this year tho...she really likes Dora and the Wonder Pets so I haven't figured that part out yet!

Last year the large party we planned was cancelled due to the huge snow storm that slammed the East Coast and we ended up doing a small family gather at their Grand Parents house. I am so nervous the same thing will happen this year. I was thinking of doing something a little more personalized this year. I plan to take them out to Build-A-Bear to make their own personalized teddy bears, then to Pump-It-Up for open play, and then I'll make a dinner complete with cup cakes and fun things to eat. That idea may change as the date grows near but for now.....

We are planning on having something cool and nice with family and friends. We marked her 1st with her friends in the church and it was really fun and quite, though she was not quite ready for it then, now that she's going to be 2, and loves to interact with other kids, we think doing her 2nd birthday by God's grace will be more fun for her to dance with her friends.

I have been trying to plan my sons 2nd birthday, but I don't know if I should do it at home or somewhere else like Chuck E Cheese or something fun like that. Terry loves running around & doing all the boy stuff, but his birthday is Feb. 12th so doing it in the park or something might be a little chilly. I think I will do a toy story theme. I think that would be fun! ( :

my son will be 2 on the 5th of february. i have already began planning his party :) he currently LOVES toy story. especially buzz lightyear. so that's the theme i am going with. we will most likely just have it at our house again with pizza and cake, lots of ballons and plenty of toys!

All I know of is that we are going to have some kind of big great construction truck-type cake. My son knows all the names of all the bulldozers, excavators, dump-trucks, tractors, etc, so we will probably have a contruction theme and I will probably make up some games for the kiddos to play. We are about to add on to the house, so if we get it done before February, the party will be here, but if not we will have it at an inflatable bouncy party place nearby. I don't plan parties too too far in advance since I have a 6 year old as well, but I guess February will be here before we know it =)

Curious jorge is a really cute Monkey! I have a baby girl, and she will be turning 2 in Feb. So we have about 4 more months to get her party planned. I would say skip the Chuck E Cheese birthday party. I attended one and half of the kids were sick the next day! Poor Babies. When Alexis turned 1, We used Minnie Mouse as the theme. This year, I am not to sure. She does not show favortism toward any particular cartoon character! Her daddy says to use the Princess theme, because She is our Little Princess! ;) Good Luck with all the planning, it is very stressful.

My daughter turns 2 in Feb. and I have only gotten as far as the theme- Tinkerbell :) She loves Tink, and we are in the process of transforming her room from the basic baby decor to fairies. We did Abby Cadabby for her 1st birthday and were able to use her balloons for decor in her room, so we figured we'd do Tink this time so that we can use stuff from her party in her room when it is done.

We were going to do her first party at the park across the street, so of course it RAINED all day and was sooo cold, so we had 50-60 people crammed into our townhouse. I vowed that if I could afford it, I would never do another home party. I have already booked her birthday at The Little Gym, she takes classes there and it is amazing!! I know her party will be 1000times better than it could be if I were to do the party. I think we are going to do a superhero theme, they have some music that goes along with it and are great at accommodating to any theme for a party.

nope, we haven't planned anything. 1 - birthdays aren't that big for us, 2 - the 2nd birthday doesn't seem monument enough to do a whole party, probably not another until 5 yrs, 3 - we have another on the way for Dec (2 months from the firstborn's birthday), needless to say it'll be too much of a hassle with a newborn in the midst.

will do the same next year as this year - just cake at one of his play groups! Don't think he's old enough for a party yet - and I'm not doing one for adults, they can organised their own :p

I hadn't even thought of it yet. I have four kids and my 3 year old's birthday is next, in December and honestly, I haven't even thought of what we are doing for that. I usually start planning a couple of weeks in advance.

My sons are tough. My 19 month old was born on my 11 year old's birthday. Last year we went to Incredible Pizza Place and for their cake we did a Harley Davidson cake, combing my oldest son's love of motorcycles with my youngest son's love of anything that has wheels.

I'm sure we'll do something similar this year, combine the cake, and go somewhere with our family where the kids can have fun. I have a big extended family (there's 19 of us with my parents, siblings, and their kids), so usually it's them, and for the older kids a couple of friends can come.

We did a really big 1st birthday so we are keeping it simple with cake and ice cream with just the family at our house. My son turns 2 on Feb. 4.

Last year we had more of a family thing, since my boy was still to small, but this time I would like to invite some of his friends from daycare too. I'm planning on a Barney-theme (my husband and me are not on the same terms yet!), but Johan just totally love Barney. He actually wont go to bed without BOTH his Barney's (he had a small one - I forgot it at home, while visiting my parents - had to go and get him a new one - and the only one I could find was a BIG one - lol). I am kinda exited about it also. Maybe getting a Barney costume and get someone to dress up with it...

We did a small family affair for my son's 1st Bday, so this year I am excited to have a real party with his friends from Storytime!! I plan on having it at a local park; just finger foods and a cake (or cupcakes). I want a Color/Shape theme: Red, Yellow, Blue/Circle, Square, Triangle. I was reading about some games for toddlers and plan on doing a beanbag toss and maybe a fishing pool game. I will keep it short since they can still be tempermental at this age with anything lengthy, but I think it will be a good time for all!! So, see we are not alone in the advanced planning!! :) :)

I'm thinking of doing a Blue's Clues theme. My daughter loves Blue's Clues. We were looking into a place to have it, since it was so crowded when we did it at home last year, but no luck so far, so we'll probably end up doing it at home again.

We just had some cakes for her 1st birthdya. we felt she was to little to really have fun. this year we are doing Barney. I wanted to do something different but the last couple of months she absoulutely freaks about Barney and the novelty has not worn off yet. she knows Barney comes form the dvd machine and not regular tv so I know if she had to see a real Barney it will rock her world!!!

We'll be down the coast (Kingscliffe)on a holiday for Charlotte's birthday, but once we're back, we'll have a party for her in the indoor play centre I sometimes go to, that also has a coffee shop in it. It caters for babies up to primary school kids, and has tables for parties.

I'll take a cake, and some party food, and adults can grab a coffee or something more substantial for themselves from the coffeeshop. The kids can play safely and someone else gets to clean up.

We went to the Gold Coast for her 1st birthday, right after her party in the park, and so this year will be quite similar.
