How big is too big?

Just had our son at the clinic to be weighed and measured again.

His weight is stable around the 98% line, but he's growing taller and is now the height of the average 2 yo while he's only 14 months!



I'm already having to defend him as peoples' expectations are for him to be as advanced as his size suggests, which is way ahead of his age.



The HV didn't seem that concerned, especially as both DH and I are tall (6' and 5' 10" respectively), but should I be worried?

the only problem i have is my son is turning 9 in like 16 days and he just hit 48 inches and 58 pounds ,, hes small for his age the doctor said hes fine but if i let him do sports he will lose 5 pounds a week and a half but still is fine i dont know what to do either about that he has not done sports this year and he is just now 58 pounds still smaller than any of his friends and according to the LAW he should be in a booster seat haha he dont care about it he just says I'LL show them someday

if the dr isn't worried i wouldn't be worried. I do have a friend that has children that are bigger both ways and she does have a problem but the dr has told her. She had also said that sometimes kids will be really tall and bigger in weight sometimes not looking like it but the height is making up for the weight also " growing taller than wider, but i wouldn't worry about it if your dr isnt'!

no dont worry. your kid will grow at his own pace as long as he isnt over weight he is fine. my son was always big and at 3 still is about the size of a 5 year old. as long as the doctor isnt worried u shouldnt either.
