My daughter first started out with 4- 8 oz cups a day, then i gradually brought her down to 2- 9 oz cups a day. She has her substitues throughout the day like cheese, ice cream, etc

When we first transitioned at 12 months she was getting five sippys ... between 28-32, not always finishing all. I asked the doc and he told me as long as she's eating her foods it was okay. Over the past month and a half we have replaced two sippys with water (occasionally she gets juice at day care). Now she gets a sippy of whole milk shortly after waking up, one at lunch and one at dinner (we've been splitting this one between dinner and bed but she is starting not to need it at bed time). SO we are now closer to 24 ounces which is what our ped. recommends when parents ask how much to give.

mine has had same as comment above 0! We are definitively breastfeeding, also dairy allergy hence nothing has been tried yet. Happier that way, as mothers milk is the normal "milk" for a human baby : )

My son drinks what I think is a lot of milk. We tell him that we will have to get him his own cow! I used to worry he drank too little when he was on formula but he loves milk. He drinks 3 bottles of milk a day, usually about 24 ounces or more.

My girl gets about 500 mL a day, I think that is about 2 cups, plus cheese and yogurt

I give my son 6 oz at breakfast, lunch and dinner. He doesn't usually finish all three. He gets water in between meals.

My son hardly drinks any milk, let alone whole milk. Not that I haven't offered it to him. He just won't drink it. So I offer him cheese and yogurt, both of which he loves.
