My son is a year and one week and still is not walking :( He's been crawling since he was 10mo and cruises whenever he can and boy is he fast! However, no walking. The doc says it's normal though, and that he's probably afraid he will fall.

My Daughter had just turned 9 months when she started walking a lot of my friends had toddlers and I could tell that Ava desperatley wanted to keep up with them. I truly believe that is why she walked so early.

Jayna took her first steps when she was 8 months. She started cruising at 9 months and could walk by 10 months. My son was a lot different. He didn't take his first step until he was about a year old. He was much more cautious and cute about being careful while he was learning. Jayna just takes off!

My oldest did not start walking till about 15 months (but he was delyed due to premie birth decfects) my middle child was walking at 9 months and my yougest will be a year next month and he is very close to walking on his own..dose very well with help and walks along the funitrure..

My son is 11mths and has just got the balance now with standing alone. Taking 1 or 2 steps but then back to the bum.. I can see it on the horizon!! Oh God, please don't rush little one! He already gets up to enough mischief!!

my little girl walked at 10mths 13 days (it was the 29th of Feb, so easy to remember). My little man hasn't walked yet. He'll be 11 mths in a few days. He walks along by the furniture but doesn't walk when we hold his hands. I'm pretty sure my 1st did that before she took those first independent steps. He is very sturdy standing alone though! He's done some fab crawling!



Walking that little bit later is a blessing really. No 1 had no sense at all and could just walk off at 11 months. I wouldn't be stressing about it really. A pal of mine (very clever) walked at 2 years having not crawled (not dyslexic) and having been to a number of doctors. Odd! but she turned out perfectly normal...must have been happy where she was sitting all the time!

My oldest daughter walked at about 14 months. Katie (4 Feb 09) took her first step at 10 months 1 day and took a few steps here or there for about a month and now at 11 months we can't stop her!

they say that 90% of babies walk between the age of 12-15 months old. if your baby does it before it's early if later just talk to your dr. if he/she is'nt pulling themselves up yet. alot of people think that they should be walking by there first birthday but really not
