Quoting Samantha:

my baby Lewis was born weighing 9lb 5oz 21cm long, My hospital let me go 15 days past my due date!! and thats when he grew so big. Only had gas and Air also did ne one else with big babies experience a 4th degree tear? and if so how do u feel now? xxx

I had my 9lb 6oz baby girl 9 weeks ago and had a 3rd degree - so glad it wasn't a 4th - and I'm still having issues with my pelvic floor! I didn't have any probs with all the stitches, but it (and my 20 hr labour) has caused me to have an unstable pelvis. I'm in physio to help restrengthen my pelvic floor muscles which will in turn help support my pelvis and get rid of the pain. I have managed to avoid any incontinence issues thankfully.

My daughter was 9 lb 6oz and 23 in - actually smaller than they'd predicted. Her size had been closely monitored through the end of my pregnancy as my fundal height was enormous and large babies run in my family too. I myself was 10 lb 4. Also no gestational diabetes. Ended up having her by forceps delivery after 20 hour labour.

Masen was born 5 weeks ahead of his time, he was born on February 24th 2009, instead of March 31st 2009. He weighed 7lbs 1oz at birth. No medication, natural birth. Although he was much smaller then most of you, he would have been a 8-9lbs baby if he had gone to term. Im glad he didn't knowing now the pain!

My third child was 10 lbs 4 oz and born at home.  Her shoulders were a little tough to come out, but I didn't tear at all.   My other were were in the 7 lb range.  She is a very smart girl, threatening to skip a grade now.  I saw an article in a magazine that larger babies tend to have higher IQs about 7 yrs ago.

ME TOO!! I don't have diabetes or overweight. My first was 9pounds 1.2 oz and my second was 10pounds 6.7 oz. I blame it on my husband lol. I think #3 will be c-section so I can save my poor pelvic floor.

I found that my 10Lb 4oz baby came out the easiest out of our three children!!  I didn't have any trouble with the labour.  I was told that our 3rd child would also be big by our Doctor as our first was 9Lb  9 oz.....well they were wrong...he was the smallest..and it was nice to have a 'small' baby 8Lb 9oz...although we had to go and buy small stuff to fit him!!!

Goodness that's a big boy good job there.  I'm soooo glad both my girls were 6 lbs.  My first was 6 lb. 3 oz. 19 in. and my second was 6 lb. 15 oz and 20.5 long.  I think I'd better stop while I'm ahead.

Wow, please tell me they gave you some meds.  My little Ava was born on the same day at 9 lbs 2 oz, 21 1/2 inches long.  She was suppose to be a 7 lb baby so I decided to continue with my plan for natural water child birth at our hospital.  Lemme tell you, our next child - I will be taking daily baths in Extra Virgin Olive Oil if they keep coming out this big.  Oh no diabetes for either of us.

I know!  It was amazing!  And I had a scheduled c-section b/c of the trouble I had with my first pregnancy (I dialated a whole cm even after being induced...wow) lol  I was used to hearing of 8lb babies in the fame, so right now I'm a celebrity...they're calling him Man Child at church! lol

I too had a 10pound 9oz 19 in baby without diabetes. It's in my genes. Isn't it funny how they are already the size of two month olds. :) Enjoy your big boy. Congrats!!!
