is it ok for one year old boy to weigh 9?

Your baby's doc would say something if there is a problem and if not .... ask. My daughter weighs 22 lbs 6 oz (9 kg = about 20). For her age group (she just turned one) that puts her between the 50th and 75th %. But she's tall ... 32 inches which is over the 95th %. Someone mentioned maintaining %. As long as there hasn't been a hugh jump or decrease your little boy should be fine.

My lil man also only weighs 20lbs. But he is so active I don't think it's possible for him to get chunky. My babysiters son is a lot chunkier but he doesn't move nearly as much as my boy does. So as long as he's healthy and the dr's not worried I wouldn't.

also assuming we are talking kg that is really close to 20lbs, neither of my kids hit the 20lb mark for their 1st bday. It is totally fine as long as they are staying on the same trend, ie... they didn't just drop from the 90th% to 10th% both of mine were always in the 10% for weight. both mine were running before they turned1, my daughter will be 1 this week and she is up and downstairs and runs across the room and weighs 18 lbs/8.18kg

I'm assuming that's 9kgs. I wouldn't worry, Charlotte is 8.04kgs and is happy as larry. She's just a feather weight. If he's happy and hitting most of his motor milestones, I wouldn't worry.
Charlotte can't walk yet and has never crawled, but is the healthiest baby around, she's the perfect size for her.
