Tips for a plane ride?

Hey, I would book either a first flight or a last flight (so that your baby is either still sleeping or willing to go back to sleep or is ready to go to sleep once you get inside the plane). I flew with my son a month ago (he was almost 7 months then) and i made sure i made him a bottle which i gave to him once we were almost ready to take off & by the time we got up in the air, he fell asleep & stayed asleep pretty much the whole flight (it wasn't a long flight, NC to NYC). he seemed to be ok once we landed, wasn't jetlagged or anything.
i would definitely bring a bottle or two & some toys for the flight. and dress your baby warm because it's really cold on the plane. i would pack what you'll need for the road & check everything else in. while most airlines will let you to bring a diaper bag & car seat & stroller (and a breast-pump if you need) for the baby to the gate & it won't count towards carry-on limits, i don't think you want to haul all this by yourself through security. they will make you fold it all, put it through the X-ray, & walk with your baby through the metal detector. you can bring breast-milk or formula & solids (they'll make it open it up & put it up to a scan-gun to test it that it's not an explosive). so the less stuff you have with you, the better. with my son, i just put a few diapers & wipes in my purse & a container with his food + a few teething biscuits for snacks just in case. everything else i checked into the luggage. good luck!
