Is it easy? My twin girls love their formula. Also, they will be one on the 10th of Feb. How long do they eat baby food till and can they eat anything once they turn one?

I started weaning Sean off formula at 10 months, by mixing half formula and half milk, first to make sure he didnt have any digestive problems with the lactose. Then little by little I would add more milk and less formula until he had a whole milk bottle.

Since Eli now has 6 teeth and has tried "real" food, he will not eat baby food. I chop up everything we (and my 2 yr old) eat. Eli LOVES beefaroni, Cheerios, rice crispies, fruit, hot dogs, and yogurt. My 2 yr old was eating everything before he was one, too. Trial and error, I guess. The milk switch was easy for us.

Normally, babies can be weaned from formula to cow's milk between 10 to 12 months, or longer, if you prefer. My daughter will be one on the 10th of february and has been off baby food for the last couple of months - she doesn't like it anymore. I think it depends on the baby. My daughter has no teeth but is able to eat anything, just last week she stole my five year old's piece of pizza and took a chunk out of it lol.
Babies can pretty much eat anything you eat if you cut it up small enough, they don't have allergies, or too much spices. That said, my daughter loves everything and will eat pretty much anything we are eating. However, she's my third so I've done it a few times already and am pretty laid back with her.
The only thing babies shouldn't have are honey or peanuts.

I'm mixing my son's formula bottles with whole milk. I have more formula than milk in there right now, but as it gets closer to his first birthday, I just add more milk, until eventually he is just taking milk instead of formula. He eats table food now, he won't have anything to do with baby food anymore (he's also got 7 teeth though) but just go with what your girls let you do.

My son will be one on Feb. 10, too! I started mixing his formula with whole milk about a week ago, and he was fine. Now he is on straight milk, no formula, and he's doing great. I've heard that milk can constipate some babies, but not mine! He's made the transition quite well. We're also giving him more solid foods since he refuses baby food. Don't they grow up so fast?!?!

Depends on if you have the say or if you let them have the say!! (smile) We have 5 kids and we have an 11 month as well. All the others were weaned by a year or shortly after, but it's whatever you decide to do. (Pediatrician recommended until 12 months, then switching to milk.) My method is to only put formula in a bottle and only put milk in a sippy cup. Then gradually give them the cup more than the bottle until you decide to part with the bottle all together. A couple of the kids I actually had to just take the bottle away, as they LOVED their bottles and just feed the the sippy cup like a bottle until they really got the hang of it. They do get hungry enough to drink out of a cup. But you do need to make sure they can figure it out, so surely be giving the a sippy cup to start with. And as far as food, our baby eats anything soft and cut into really small finger size pieces and he does just fine. He does have 6 front teeth, so may depend on how many teeth they have. I do still give him cereal because he loves the rice and oatmeal kind. Your girls should be able to eat some mac & Cheese, cottage cheese, crackers, Cheerios, ect. You are busy mom with twins. We may have five, but were blessed with them one by one, which was great for us. Double trouble, hehe!! Take care!

What I did for my son now 3 and what I will do with my 11 month here, is slowly added milk to his diet. like for 1 week only give him 1 bottle/cup of milk per day for a week, then the next week make it 2 milks a day until it is all he is going to drink. Now Remeber that they have not had milk b4 so just like food you will want to only give the babies the milk and no other new food until you know there is not reaction. Good luck with you twins. hope this helps

Hey Gabrielle you can start weaning bubs off formula at 12 months as long as your girls dont have any special needs with nutrition. I personally dont like cows milk and like I did with my daughter I will put my son on toddler milk at 12 months. At 12 months you cant start trying all foods that you eat with less spice/salt. Goodluck ;)

Not sure on the milk question. All Ive heard is at 12 months and my child loves his formula too. I think after one you can try pretty much any foods but only introduce one at a time so that you can determine which foods dont agree with your children (allergy, behaviour or digestion)
