won't drink milk....

My daughter is 14 months old. 3 days ago I started the process of taking away bottles. She originally took morning, afternoon and night bottle. Oh and it has to be warmed! She refuses cold milk. Anyway, morning and afternoon I would try the straw sippy and the soft sippy cups, she would take one sip then push it away. I wouldn't give in and give her the bottle but she also didn't cry for it. I am still giving her her evening one. During the day I offer her the cup anytime she seems to want a drink but she wouldn't take it till this morning I tried another type of cup with a hard sippy and she drank it! I don't know if she just finally gave up or what but we'll see later today if she'll take another one. I do offer her string cheese which she loves and yogurt to make sure she is getting her calcium. So for the past 3 days, each day she may only get 8-10 oz of milk but she is getting calcium from other sources and drinking water and juice. Good Luck and hang tough!

My daughter always hated the sippy cup, so I just gave her a cup with the straw and she would drink anything. She also loves warm milk. Hope that helps. Another way is to give him milk with formula. FIRST WEEK: Mix 3oz formula with 1oz milk. SECOND WEEK: Mix 2oz formula with 2oz milk. THIRD WEEK: Mix 1oz formula with 3oz milk, the the FORTH WEEK: 4oz of just milk. Good luck!

My son is going on 14 months now, He's been on cows whole milk for about 5 months now. At first he rejeected it because it wasn't mommas milk. You said he will eat yograt right? Well They make drinkable yogart. Mix the drinkable yograt and the milk together and see how that sits with him. All babies are different it may not work , but that worked for my son. Also bananna milkshakes work well too. It has milk in it so their digestive systems gradually get use to whole milk. Good luck

My 14 month old is the same way..
I have tried everything mixing ,soy , you name it I did it ...
his pediatrician told me I could put him on the NEXT step type of formulas if he still refused so that is what i have done..
i try through out the day to give him whole milk in a cup and he sips on it but wont DRINK much ....

my son hated milk at first too. what i had to do was mix his formula with milk. for example i would make 4-5 oz. warm formula and then add 1-2 oz of milk to make his full 6 oz. bottle. every other day id take out an ounce of formula and replace it with more milk. now he will drink milk no problem. it also helped that the milk was warm (since hes been used to warm formula) and then also little by little, let it get colder by adding less warm milk and more cold. my son loves cold chocolate milk. and again i slowly put less and less hersheys chocolate syrup into his milk and now he will drink white milk with little problem.

My daughter is the same way, i am still nursing at night but that will be ending soon as i am in the process of weaning her. My Dr said she is fine without the milk as long as she is eating cheese and yogurt which she does daily. Some kids just don't like the taste of milk so you just go with what is working for them.

my son is 14 months, and wont drink any sort of milk or drink formula or eat yogurt.. he was breast fed til he just stopped on his own 3 days before his first birthday and he use to eat yogurt and cheese, now nothing even crys if he gets chocolate in his mouth.. but eats food so good and my doctor isnt concerned says if i just try daily he may start.. it worrys me still though.. good luck
