My LG only says mom, dad, Ryan, water, two, three, tete (spanish for her bottle) and few more words, I am starting to worry, I don't think where I live now there are any speech therapist (I am in a Village in Israel) so don't know where to go from here. ?? and she is starting as well to finish few of some words that I tought her over and over. I speak spanish to her so I will say pelo and she will say ta (pelota = ball) any ideas on how to improve her comunicating skills? She understands almost everything (not everything)

My 20 month has one word (no)...I wish she had all those words! It's a great start!

My first daughter didn't say more than 5 words before her second birthday, but a month after, her vocabulary exploded. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

my 20 month daughter also only has about 12/15 words (she says more at d\c I'm told) as well, I have talked to a SLP (there is one at my husbands work) and she said not to worry. All kids develop at different rates and she very well might just start speaking in sentances and skip the single word stage altogether!

i have a daughter 19 month and she is the same she only says mam, granda, dodo and maaa (when she gives people kisses) and tries to put a few words into sentences but dont exactly come out right. i wouldn't try to worry about it too much as she is still young and has plenty of time to learn more as she grows. give it a little more time and if she still doesnt start saying more then i would recommend taking her to see a speech therapist hope this helps
