Hi

So, last night we had 'some loving' and then this morning when I wiped I found a smear of pink blood in mucus on the loo paper - no more since - just clear mucus. Don't think I should be worried, should I? No cramping or pain, quite bloated as usual. Still having my symptoms little bit of nausea, sore boobies, general feeling tired etc.

Quoting Kari:

Hi!  So you have PCOS?  I do to and had a successful first pregnancy.  My daughter was born 8 21.  We are now expecting our second in Feb.  I was never treated for PCOS just lost weight.  However I am back to where I started before I lost it now.  :(  You mentioned that you only had no more syptoms with your miscarriages.  Today I was just telling my husband that I feel great.  With my first I was sick all the time and up until today I was with this one too.  I had a ultrasound done last week-strong heartbeat and they said everything was fine.  No bleeding just nerves after reading your post! LOL But do you think I should be worried?  I hate the first trimester!!

Hi Kari,

PCOS sucks - but please don't stress just from my post. There are apparently 4 variations of PCOS.

1. The "pearl necklace" cyst pattern on both ovaries with no hormonal issues or insulin resistance - in this case ovulation is about the only issue

2. The "pearl necklace" cyst pattern and hormonal issues and insulin resistance - This is what I have. It sucks because we deal with no/rare ovulation and if we do the egg quality is poor thus causing miscarriage. Then if it is untreated and you do ovulate, the insulin resistance means the miscarriage rate is high. In this case it's usually hormonal support to assist getting past the first trimester and/or Metformin (which is what I am on)

3. No cysts on the ovaries but issues with hormones - this is fairly easy to treat with hormonal support

4. No cysts on the ovaries but issues with hormones and Insulin Resistance - as above, needs probably some Metformin.

Don't stress. If you were told that you just needed to control your diet, I would guess yours isn't a severe case of PCOS. Mine has definitely been classified as "Severe Insulin Resistance" and I had upwards of 60+ cysts on EACH ovary.

Your Dr would have had you on Metformin if you needed it - and that heartbeat sounds very very encouraging.

I had my first ultrasound today - right on 6 weeks and a heartbeat of 120bpm.

Good luck and feel free to message me if you have more questions xx

These little buggers sure know how to cause stress - even before they are born!

I had a really good easy going pregnancy with my first. Nothing was a concern. My son is just a gem. Then we had 3 pregnancies within 12 months of Cooper being born, and we lost all of them (I have PCOS and the 3 after my son were NOT treated with a drug called Metformin, thus causing the miscarriages)

Now we are pregnant again, happily on Metformin none of the symptoms of the losses.

We had, loss of symptoms (no longer sore boobs, tiredness etc) - which you still have so that is a VERY good sign!, spotting a few days before the miscarriage without any reason (no sex etc - so again yours looks more like an irritated cervix)

You had a scan already haven't you? Did you see bubba's heartbeat? They say anything beating 90+ beats from 6 weeks onwards drops your miscarriage risk to only 3%

I'm sure you'll be fine - your poor hubby will probably be sulking in a week or so though LOL

Oh Cie. That doesn't sound good at all. Let us know what happens when you get your ultrasound. I am hoping that it is just your placenta close to your cervix that is causing the red bleeding. It's hopeful you saw bubba's heartbeat

Well, seems to be getting worse now - now red blood, but still not cramping which gives me a bit of hope. Still freaking out though.

Oh Cie. I hope that everything is fine for you tomorrow morning. Is this your first pregnancy after your little boy? If it is and something is wrong, now is the perfect time to find out. Get your Dr to check progesterone. If that is low he can start you on it now before your bleeding gets any worse.

My fingers are crossed for you xx

MMM, well walk up the morning and wiped and there was more blood. Rang the specialist and they said prob nothing to worry about, and yes I am a terrible worrier, so going in for another scan tomorrow morn. Am a little upset as I hate the unknown - just have to try and stay positive and enjoy my little boy!

Hi Christina, yes we did see the little heart beat and it was 102 bpm - apparently ok for 6.5 weeks - but will need to go back for another scan next week - the specialist is just been extra careful. I still have mild nausea (worse in the last couple of day) and am tired and generally fell fat and pg. Thanks again.,

HI, thanks for your positive feedback. Nothing since this morning, all seem to nice and clear - yes poor DH knows now that loving won't happen for a while! I am 42 years old so am quite anxious that this pg follows through.

I agree with Tamara. Your cervix is sensitive in early pregnancy. You've probably just irritated it.

If the bleeding starts again, or gets heavier, get it checked. I'd probably give the loving a break for a few days to see what happens

I would say it was most likely because of the 'loving', but if there is any more you should call your dr.
