I have been cramping for the last week and I'm not sure if they are Braxton Hicks or what, this is my first pregnancy. Sometimes the cramping gets sharp enough to make me double over. I plan on calling my dr tomorrow just to be sure. I'm not having any preterm labor symptoms either, anyone else have anything similar?

A lot of women have told me that their braxton hicks contractions didn't hurt but with my first pregnancy they did and they hurt also with my current pregnancy! I double over in pain as well, the doctor said there was nothing to be alarmed about except of course when they continue and become more frequent and more intense which are signs of ACTUAL contractions!

I also experienced Braxton Hicks...it felt weird at first I thought maybe the baby was just pushing on that part of my belly more and sometimes it hurts pretty bad, stops me in my place. One of the nurses told me to mkae sure you drink a lot of water...I did and it helped. She said if I am feeling them a lot to drink a bunch of water and wait a little while if they do not slow down and ease up or even worse get harder and more frequent to call the doctor...but otherwise it is normal. I did go to the doctor one day and they placed the monitor around my tummy (stress test) for about a 1/2 hour and then did an internal sonogram and everything was OK..no preterm labor. I hope you find out the same, just Braxton Hicks.

i have been having cramps and sharp pains that come and go and my doctor says it may be false labor or also braxton hicks. all she told me as to take it easy and cut my activities in half and just rest most of the time since i am 27 wks and 4dys and since i do have an enlarged uterus. but she says its nothing to worry about unless they get more worse or in a pattern. hope all is good for you

When things like that come up and they alarm you, it never hurts to give the doctor a visit. They might reccommend a non-stress test to make sure everything is normal. Could very well be braxton hicks though. Let us know how it goes!

Hi my names Stephanie i am expecting my 3rd baby and i have recently been told i have ligimate damage which is also like braxton hicks i find it really hard to walk on occasions and feel like im going to pass out so i hopefully helped you a little bit good luck at the doctors...
