since my daughter was about 6 months, she has been pulling herself up and walking along furniture and along anything she can grab onto. She started crawling about 3 weeks ago and now she is all over the house. she is 7 1/2 months now.

My son is doing the same thing. He has just started to stand on his own using anything he can grab. Before that he would wait for one of us to help him. We have already childproofed many things (not done by any means) but have a gate in place so that he can't get in or out of the playroom (which was my den which has been taken over by a small man) without someone. He can get down himself sometimes but not always. Also, he has been walking for about a month now with gusto when I hold his hands. All babies are so different and he was able to stand at about 8 weeks...so his legs are quite strong now.

Yeah it is quite funny watching them explore and try to figure out things for the first time. My little girl Serena loves to crawl around and see what she can get into . Sometimes it only gets her into trouble and she ends up falling, she cries for a bit then goes right back . LOL She actually started pulling herself up onto her knees before learning how to crawl. The crawling only came 4 days after and about a week after she mastered crawling she mastered going into a sitting position from crawling position. Now she is going into a V. She pushes her legs up out of the crawl position and looks like she's trying to figure out how to get herself into a standing position. Anyways if you want to join my circle you can see her pictures.

My little girl is 14lbs and is in 3 month and 3-6 month clothes now too. She has a BIG upper body and short legs. She thinks she rules the house all the time. Loves to stand up and finally learned how to get down on her own today. I got out a toy that teaches babies to walk. She climbed up to it and stood herself up and took a few steps. Kind of wish i had the camera in my hands lol. She is just barely 7 months old too.

My little girl started crawling at the end of 6months and is now trying to get up onto her feet by herself. She wants you to hold her and walk with her too. I believe it'll only be a matter of a month or 2 if I'm lucky before she's up and walking about or worse running. LOL
she's a peanut too. She's just started growing out of the 3 month clothes and moving into the 3-6 month clothes. LOL 16 pounds as of today and she is now 7 months, 3 weeks old.

my baby is mad, he would rather hang on to my back so i cant catch him if he falls, but hes been pulling himself up for about a month, and will just let go for no reason and look confused as to how he is sat on the floor again. it does drive me mad but i still think its the best age, when their learning everything!

my son will be 8 months on oct. 8th. he has been pulling himself up,standing up at tables, and trying to walk from one thing to another. it seems early, but from what i'm reading,it's perfectly normal. the part i hate the most is all the falling down he does while trying to walk. i believe he'll probably be walking by christmas. something i don't think i'm quite ready for. lol.

My second son, born February 2010, is doing this already too! But for Sam, and any other mothers who are worried, my first son did NOT start standing, even with assistance until well after 9 months. All babies are different. My first son was like a prince, waiting for everything to be brought to him. And he is totally normal and healthy as a 3 year old now and starting walking right at his birthday too. But I think my second son will be walking early.

My little girl has been pulling herself up for over a month now. And the past couple of weeks she has been trying to walk while holding something, but she just falls over. Sometimes when she stands up she can't figure out how to get back down yet. I know in time she will learn though :)

So true!. I wanted to mention that also, that every baby is different and they will do these different things when they are ready. :0) I actually wish my baby girl wasn't pulling herself up yet, these months are going by way too fast and I'm not ready for her to grow up quickly. Happy days to everyone and your little ones! :0)

Wow. My little girl is almost 8 months and she is just now learning to crawl. Not quite there yet. She hasn't been pulling herself up at all and the only walking she does is in her walker chair. All kids go at their own pace. My son was also very slow at crawling and walking (he started walking at 14 months!) He is one of the smartest kids in the class and he's a year younger then the kids he goes to pre k with. No worries... they will walk/crawl when they want to! :)

My baby girl turned 7 months last week. She has been pulling herself up standing for the past 2 weeks also. She doesn't walk yet, but she is so strong and is constantly pulling herself up!! I think she will be an early walker. I am def. getting my exercise from chasing her around the house from her crawling!! She has been keepin me in shape! =)

My daughter's version of crawling is one leg up to stand and the other bent. That is as far as she got at 4 months. Month 5 &6 was standing and using the furniture to walk around the living room. My husband says she got tired of being left behind lol. Now month 7, she is walking unassisted but she is practicing standing on her own. Right not she clocks in at 12 sec before she drops down for a sit. lol it is too funny.

I wish my daughter would figure out how to stand holding something.. She can crawl superfast, but it isn't fast enough for her.. She LOVES to walk around holding onto someones fingers, and if you try to make her sit down or stand holding something, she throws a big crying fit till you let her walk holding your fingers again.. We have to have lots of distractions to keep her from having a meltdown when we can't be walking around with her! She spends a big part of her day chasing us around trying to grab fingers to go for a walk.. So now we are trying to encourage her to figure out how to get up for herself. Poor girl just wants to go!

ah, my daughter has been pulling herself up on the furniture (or really anything she can reach) for about a week. she hasn't figured out how to use it to move, but ALL she wants to do is climb/stand. she even tries to stand up using her baby wipes box! in my opinion, she can take as long as she wants to figure out what to do once she's standing lol

My daughter has been doing this for a few weeks and it is driving me crazy! All her friends are older so they can walk, and she has decided that she should too. Unfortunately she doesn't have enough balance to walk yet, so she has falls constantly. She will pull herself up on anything in sight (legs, tables, couches, her toys, chairs), let go with one hand, then move a foot and PLOP! she falls down. I feel like I spend my whole day chasing after her! I'm glad my baby's not the only one!

My daughter is doing the same thing..She could stand all day long and she would be happy...Everytime she is playing she wants to be standing so we bought her this leapfrog table that is her height and she stands and plays at it and now has figured out how to venture around it which is more exciting than the furniture..

The "being driven crazy chasing around an upright baby" - that is sooo me. And Its been 3 maybe 4 weeks as well. The part that is hard, is when I put on the floor and instead of going for toys, he races to the nearest thing to stand up with (even the freaking wall). My son is also still working on the get back down part, its getting better - but he thinks he can walk because he'll turn around and let go of what he's holding on to (he's fights with gravity ALL day)

One of my twins has just started this. She has been pulling up for a few weeks and is now starting to move around a little and spending much more time standing. She is figuring out how to get back down by herself though so usually i just have to scoop her up when she falls and give her a cuddle.
