Anyone seen the "three lines" in their ultrasound yet?

At 16 weeks the tech told me she sees the 3 lines she was 75% it's a girl.. Wich I already have one now I got another ultrasound coming at 24 weeks she been wrong before she said what do you guys think I really need help!!!!!

Im 13 wks and today my ultrasound tech said she seen three lines..is it to early for them to see..she said she wasnt going to say it was a girl 100% ..Is it to early to you all?

Ya I'm 6 months pregnant right now and was told I was having a girl too and it showed the 3 white lines. The women even said, "Yep, 3 white lines, girl"
And my second ultrasound, same thing,.

By the way, what are those 3 white lines???

Samantha - Don't focus on what the gender of your baby may or may not be. I saw the lines in my U/S at 20 weeks, and they told me I was having a 9.5 lb girl. I had an 11lb 6 oz boy...
You never really know, and U/S's are not 100% accurate. Just focus on loving the baby and taking care of yourself and you'll be happy no matter what the gender is.
You're frustrated because you've got a ton of hormones running through your body. Don't stress over it, because stress isn't good for your baby or you. Have a good cry and then let it go.

my tech told me the same thing... but was positve it was a girl... Your b/f's mother isnt a tech and needs to get her head on straight... i wouldnt even bother listening to her .. obviously shes a nut.. Im having a girl too and was told at my first ultrasound that it was a by but the last three ive had sayes its a girl... the three lines are a definat girl... CONGRATS

just remind yourself that when your boyfriend's mom was having kids, technology was not as advanced as it is today. it used to be very common to be having a "girl" for the entire pregnancy, and then at birth to find out they were wrong. if you saw three white lines after 16 weeks, it is a girl 100 percent.

The genitals should be fully developed right now, you should not see little boy parts you should see girl parts if its a girl.

I had my fetal survey at 19 weeks and my little man is obviously a boy. Girls look very much like a hamburger ( lol, Charlotte) in that there are three white lines. I agree here, ignore the comments. From the moment I found out I was expecting I referred to my little man as a him, his stuff and he. People told me not to because I could be having a girl and they were WRONG =D !

its very rare to be told your having a girl and it turn out to be a boy !!, girls bits look like a little hamburger (three white lines)on the ultrasound and boys parts have two visable balls on the scan so it must be a girl look foward to it and ignore others negative comments

I have two girls and both had 3 white lines...my boys were always very visibly boys at this point..you could see the peepee just sticking out there! I believe you are def having a girl. Leave it to a MIL or future MIL to say something to burst bubbles..mine does all the time. LOL

Hi there, like Rachel said, the 3 white lines are the labia and vulva. It is actually the inner and outer lips of the vagina. Thus is not just the abcense of the penis, but actually the presence of a girls anatomy that determines the sex.



Hamburger, 3 lines, all expresions the doctors use to describe the appearance of a girl on a scan. Congrats on your baby girl!!

Hi Samantha... I will just say that as long as when the tech took the pic and her legs were spread open and you could see those three lines that YES it is a girl... My daughter to be dad really wanted a boy and when the doc said it was a girl he alwasy keeps saying that there is still those 10% to be a boy, but i know for a fact its a girl because when the ultrasound pic was taken her legs were spread open so nothing could be misleading. Good Luck... My daughter due date is Feb 6 so right lose to your :D

Three lines are definitely a little girl, boys at you're stage are very noticeable besides 95% are really good odds. Don't let her get you down, some people always have something to say. Just what till you have the baby, you (like me) will probably get hit with so much unwanted advice. Don't let nothing bother you and listen to your heart.

Im having a girl. And we saw those 3 white lines at 18 weeks. I have my boys 2 ultasound pics and compared and there is no way its a boy!!!!! boys dont have any lines what so ever. its just one big white cirle with a point. Congrats. Im due on feb.18th. Good luck with the other half of ur pregnancy.

I am pregnant with my 2nd, first was a boy. I took the Intelligender test at 10 weeks which said it was a girl. I had an early ultrasound at 15 weeks for fun just because I couldn't wait. The tech said the 3 lines is definitely a girl. I just had my OB ultrasound at 18 weeks and the 3 lines are still there and it's definitely a girl! So don't worry, you're definitely having a girl! Congrats!

YES! THEY ARE I AM DUE FEB 18 WITH MY 2ND CHILD AND FIRST CHILD WAS A BOY AND WE ARE HAVING A GIRL THIS TIME THOSE THREE WHITE LINES ARE A GIRL BECAUSE I DOUBLE CHECKED THE TECH THAT DID MINE.. YOU ARE HAVING A LITTLE GIRL!

These are qualified ultrasound technicians and do this for a living.

On this site you'll get plenty of "incorrect" genders - the biggest one tends to be boys that have "3 lines" - mum gets told girl only for a little boy to come out....

It's a fact that if a sonographer who is less experienced takes the "toilet shot" from too far back, 3 white lines on boys with no prominent boy bits are seen. It is absolutely NOT the pelvic bone you are looking for - it is the labia.

I'm not saying that your sonographer is incorrect or the opening post doesn't have her little girl - all I am saying is it is absolutley possible for boys to ultrasound as 3 white lines as well...

Three white lines can also be a boy if the shot is taken too far back....



At 18 weeks we saw 4 white lines and made it a 100% girl....

The absence of a penis shouldn't be an automatic girl - it could be that the penis isn't visible from that particular shot.....

My first daughter had the three white lines. The daughter I'm carrying now has three white lines as well.

It is true that ultrasounds aren't always right, but it's more common for a "boy" to turn out to be a girl than a "girl" turn out to be a boy! Don't worry! You had the ultrasound late enough for it to be fairly accurate. :)

3 lines is a girl... If you had your sono after 19wks it's a pretty sure thing that you are having a girl. Don't let your b/fs mother get you down.

I have 2 other little girls and they had 3 white lines...and this one got them too!!! Congrats!
