My daughter was delivered by emergency c-section on feb. 2nd at 39 weeks because drop in heart rate durring contractions. When she was born she was sheet white with very little blood of her own. Apparently there was a problem with the placenta, a very rare disorder where baby bleeds into mom. She had a blood transfusion and was in the N.I.C.U. for three days befor going to the regular nursery and in the hospital 3 days longer than me. I feel truely blessed to have her home, especially because most pregnancies with this disorder end in still birth, but at the same time I am so overwhelmed, she is a peanut only 5 lbs. 9.2 oz. at birth and now she is only 5.5 lbs. I'm having a hard time getting her weight up. I'm breast feeding and supplamenting with formula to no avail. Besides the weight issue she has what appears to be a cyst on her spine and has to get x-rays and an ultra sound to make sure it is nothing more serious. Has anyone else dealt with either of these issues before? If so I could use some advise!
