Did you get the depo shot in hospital bc that same thing happened to me after I had my son and was told it was bc of the depo shot and it lasted like 6 mon.

I was actually googling this today because the same thing is happening to me, and I really couldn't find an answer. I'm not breastfeeding, I started birthcontrol about a month and a half ago but this was happening before I started that too and it hasn't stopped. I get one week on one week off, after my C-section I did for almost 6 weeks... I'm hoping it stops soon, it really is concerning me since I've always been so regular.

after my c-section I bled for 5 and a half weeks, then April 22 I started and it was the worst period I have ever had in my life I was bleeding wicked heavy, big clots, and cramps that could knock over an elephant that lasted for about a week, then I started again yesterday almost back to normal now. I think it has alot to do with how you periods were before you got pregnant, i had a friend who was always spotting and thats how it stayed after she gave birth. for me before I got pregnant I always started around the first, and now I must be doomed to always start around the 20th, and its funny I just noticed but in april I started almost exaclty a month from the day I stopped bleeding

i had my daughter february 23 and bled for about 7 weeks. since then i havent gotten my period. ive only spotted very lightly for 2 days.

Don't worry, i was bleeding for nearly 3 months! It's a pain, but it does go away. Are you on any contraceptive? This normally helps stop the bleeding. Yes you can use tampons again, i did and im fine.

Hiya my son is now 14 weeks old. I bled for 6 weeks straight, then on and off, i now have periods but they are longer and different flows all through it. It's not like the clumpy thick blood you first get its just normal thin and can last up to two weeks in my case. Ive just come off my second period. It sounds like you are on yours too, just on and off. I am also on the contraceptive injection which gives you spotting bleeding but i have still been able to tell when i am on or not. Its just annoying that it seems like im always bleeding.



Tampons are absolutely fine unless you are not healed properly down there.

I am having that problem. Only my daughter is now 11 weeks old and my bleeding hasn't stopped at all.

I had my fifth child on February 26th. With each of the others, I bled for the first five or six weeks and then didn't have a period until at least six months later all the way to a year. This time I stopped at four weeks and started bleeding heavily (ER visit) at five weeks. They couldn't find a cause and it did stop so the staff decided it was my period. I disagreed and it's now been six weeks without another period, so I think I was right. My doctor said that sometimes that kind of bleeding happens and it is just a fluke, a very annoying, inconvenient fluke!

I have had the same problem, it is normal, you will bleed off and on. For me it was till 7 or 8 weeks, I had my first period in the 10th week. I agree every women is different, I'm exclusively breastfeeding, and I have bled more with this child. My older 3 children were bottle fed and I bled till I was 5 weeks, so you never know. Again like everyone has said so far, if in doubt talk to your Doctor. Just for that peace of mind.

I had my baby 3 months ago and I bled for 7 weeks straight, my doctor said i could use tampons after the first 6 weeks, and i've been having off and on since my 6 week check up. I have no idea why i'm having this on off bleeding it could be because of the birth control, if you started birth control that could be a reason why. but I'm pretty sure it's normal to have random bleeding for a few months after having a baby.

yeah i am sorry, it sounds really apealing becasue you dont have to think about it and it is only 1 shot every 3 months.. well what they dont tell you is that you might not stop bleeding for that long or longer.... I really hope that it stops for you soon .. I stopped using the Depo and then went on the Evra patch and that is really what worked well for me, because i can not remember to take a pill at the right time everyday. Now i can honestly say that my husband is a nurse and he doesnt want me on any kind of birth control because of the risks and side affects in them and because it seems like my system has been on to react in that 2% of people. Anyway I do hope that you find something that works for you and that you stop your bleeding soon

well, my doctor put me on the depo shot two days after i had my baby so ive been bleeding for 3 months now...

omg i have the same problem. i bled for 6 weeks and went straight into y first period with no break. i had a period a month later and then just got off f another one only two weeks after my second one. it kinda sucks because we're already thinking about haging our third baby and with it doiin this, its going to make it hard.

Talk to your doctor and as for the birth control you have to be very carful as it is different for everyone. I know that i was fine and then my dr. gave me the Depo shot and i didnt stop bleeding for 6 months it was aweful.... So check out for yourself about the birth control especially with the Depo.. I have yet to know someone that it didnt mess with. I have had 4 kids and my 4th is 3 months and i just stopped fussing around with spotting here and there...it is annoying and i am nursing as well. SO you really dont know and if you cant sleep and are really concerned about it is never hurts to check with your Dr. that is what they are their for

I had that problem with my first every second week I was bleeding my doctor had to put me on birth control. So I wasn't losing so much iron with the bleeding. I do recommed you asking your doctor about it.

it all depends on if you are breats feeding or not .. i had my baby on the 24th of feb and i bleed for like 3 weeks then stoped .. i juss started my monthly like 2 days ago

Hey ladies my friend had the same problem and her doc had to give her the depo shot and put her on birth control pills so she would stop bleeding so much and it worked, so maybe if you tell your doc they may do the same.

Same thing happened to me, exact same thing in fact! After the second time, it hasnt come back. I was extremely surprised because I'm breastfeeding exclusively. I tried tampons but because breastfeeding really dries you up, it didnt work out. :( Hopefully it stays away for a while. I absolutely hate pads too.

My dr told me that everyone is different. Some women have normal periods, some don't have any and some have varying amounts of spotting. Basically anything goes! BUT, if you seriously think something is wrong, talk to your dr~

that happened to me I thought it was from the mini pill I got put on so I went to doctors nd they gave me antibiotics incase i retained anything after birth

I am experiencing the same thing.. I was bleeding then it stopped for a week and then I started spotting again. It stopped after a few days. I too was wondering how to tell the difference between recovery bleeding and period bleeding. I am exclusively pumping 4 times a day...

I bled for about 4 weeks, then stopped, and didn't bleed again until 9 weeks post-partum - my first period! yuck! And I'm exclusively breastfeeding! Don't let anyone tell you that breastfeeding will work for birth control or will keep your periods away. It does for some people, but it doesn't for others. With my first, I nursed him completely on demand, be it 30 minutes or 2 hours, and I started my period when he was 6 weeks old. This time, I nurse ever 2 1/2-3 hours, except at night, when it's about 7-8 hours, and my period was slower in coming back this time. So just because you're nursing every 2 hours doesn't mean you won't get your period, and just because you're not nursing every 2 hours doesn't mean you will get it. It's just different for every woman. My sister started after 4 months with her first kid, and 5 months with her second, exclusively breastfeeding the entire time. But I also have a friend that nursed her daughter until she was 2, and the last like 10 months were just one or two times a day, and she didn't start her period until her daughter was completely weaned! You just never know!

HOWEVER, that seems like a very long time to bleed. I would definitely check back with your dr. about it. He may tell you that every woman is different! But you're right, it sure does suck! lol

oh as for breastfeeding, I am nursing still and hve not started bleeding yet or 1 st period. If your nursing is inconsisitant then you will start your bleeding or spotting but generly not until your done nursing.

Hi, I have had 5 babies my last one is 3 months I never really had bleeding that lasted morethen 8 weeks. with my last it was 6 weeks and then stopped and at 8 weeks I spotted I think its the body getting back to normal and trying to get rid of the waste from birth. I really don't think it's anything to worry about but if it does not stop and your concerned go see your Dr. As for tampons not until at least 8 weeks after birth I insides are still healing check with your Dr. I hope this helps.

My bleeding was nothing like before I fell pregnant. With my first 2 children I bled for a couple of weeks after I gave birth and then my periods were back to normal. With my third child its different. I have just started to spot again, its really getting on my nerves.

Hey! I bled for just 4 weeks, and then haven't seen a sign of it since. Its been 11 weeks now. I would ask your doctor, since it is coming and going like that. Also, I am breastfeeding and my doctor said I most likely won't get a period until a few weeks after I have stopped. Are you?

I had a c-section on Feb 26th, and bled for most of 6 weeks, so i asked my doc at my check up why i was still bleeding, how long would it continue, and why was it stopping for a day or 2 here and there... He said as long as i was nursing i could continue to bleed "spotty" like that!!! Who knew!?!?

Hi, I bled for 6 weeks then had a break for a week and then started my first period. It was really heavy to the point that I had to change my clothes. Then after that I was spotting for a couple of weeks. A the moment I havent been wearing pads for a couple of weeks now and I am sure I am due to start my next period soon and am worried it is going to be the same as the last one. I started to get very light headed because I was bleeding so heavily.

My doctor said to hold off for 6 weeks i'm sure you can use tampons now. At your 6 week check up your doctor should have told you if it was ok. I bleed for 2 1/2 weeks and stopped until recently, 3 months later. I believe i'm having my first period in a year.
