I am only 26 1/2 weeks and i went to pick a piece of wood for the wood stove and my private area started hurting bad. The wood wasnt even that big the pain started yesterday but went away for a little while today till i picked that up. What can that be?

I've had this since last week too. I'm now 36 weeks, and it only hurts when my baby turns from side to side :-)

I'm totally there. At about 25 weeks is when I first felt it, Im now 37, and my doctor told me it was because of torn/ strained ligaments/ cartilage, the pain has only gotten worse and now I can hardly walk, get out of bed, turn in bed, tie my shoes, you name it, it hurts to do it. Hang in there we are almost done. just a couple more weeks.

My guess is SPD. I know exactly what you are going through. I am 36 weeks and have been having pelvic and hip pain for a a few months now. My husband has been great and had really helped me out a lot with getting in and out and rolling over in bed. He has also had to help me walk many times because the pain was so bad. I have mentioned it to my drs numerous times and they all say the same thing...it's normal and should go away after delivery. If not physical therapy may be needed. Not exactly what I wanted to hear but atleast I know I'm not alone. To make matters worse I have a history of back problems and surgery and most recently pulled ligaments and muscles in both legs. All these things combined make the pain 10 times worse. Massages, hot baths and tylenol before bed seem to work the best for me.

I have had the same problem and today i went to the doctor and they hooked me up to the machine that shows baby hert beat and contractions. I've been having contractions 1 minute apart so it feels like constant pain n the pelvic area. Wish i was in the hospital but they said i'm not far enough dilated to keep me and made me go home. mayb you are having contractions like me.

Wow kinda of comforting to know I'm not alone, I've been dealing with this pain now for about 6 weeks. I'm 36 weeks pregnant with my second child and anxiously counting down the days. I've never experienced anything like this with my daughter. I find it gets worse when I'm laying down. Many, many times I have to call on the hubby to roll me over. It's excruciating. About 4 nights ago I turned in my bed too quickly I guess and I felt what I would describe as a tearing then a hot sensation in my pubic area. I've mentioned it to the DR several times and all he can say is that there's really not much he can do for that, that unfortunately the baby is just putting pressure there and that it won't end till I deliver. Which terrifies me since I've read in severe cases this condition can prevent a vaginal delivery. Sometimes I swear the internet offers too much information and makes it worse for me since I'm such a worry wart. But sorry to go off on a ramble ladies, just needed to vent about the pain I've been dealing with for weeks now. Hope the pain eases for all and smooth labor vibes to all. Good luck!!!!

I had that for a long time too, it was insane. I took two regular strength Tylenol every night and sometimes during the day, just so I could rest. I ended up having my daughter early, like Jan 20 as apposed to Feb 12, so pay attention if it gets worse or you feel like you have to poop alot, that could be the start of labour. Otherwise rest when you can and take it easy, cos the pain won't really ease up until D-day!

thank god i'm not the only one, it's crazy pain and at night it's wow it's hard. I just hope that this pain dosn't keep on after birth becasue that will really be hard . I didn't have this at all with my first all I keep sayin it's almost over 4 more weeks and it better be a boy for all this pain. my first was a girl and I felt great through everything i've been off work for 3 months with this pain.

OMG! I thought I was the only one. I didn't know what it was or why it was happening, since it didn't experience it thru my first pregnancy. Its so painful and sometimes I am afraid to move. It does make it difficult to walk but it happens to me no matter if I am sitting, laying down.

oh my I don't feel alone any more I am 34 weeks and this my 4th and I am so miserable. I think he is trying to find the light early. When I stand up it shoots down, I can't stand it. Moving in bed is the worst, I have asked my husband to roll me out of bed more than once. I feel like a beached whale. On a bright note we are almost over. :-) ( I keep telling myself that in hopes that it helps)

I have had the same problem I am 35 or 37 weeks along. But I am told just take Tylenol to see if it helps if not call your Doc. to see if you should go to the Hospital. Better to be safe than sorry if something is wrong.

Me too hun. I'm 38 weeks and I've probably had it since 25 weeks. Turning in bed is pretty impossable. Make sure you have a pillow (or two if your me) between your legs. I find it easier to sit up in bed, then turn to the other side. Now that I'm waking up every 2 hours to pee I also try to make sure that I switch sides every time. I've also tried streching a little bit before I go to bed. Sometimes I hear my pelvis pop... not sure if my lil man likes that or not but it does seem to help the pain. If all else fails a warm shower/bath also helps me out or tylenol! Good luck hun!

I literally feel your pain. I've talked to both my OB/Gyn and Maternal-Fetal Specialist several times about it. There is basically very little to do about it, though. Mine is so bad, and will come on no matter what I'm doing - I've actually fallen when walking and it comes on, and I've also had my vision go black walking, sitting, and laying down.

Best thing to do is drink plenty of water, find a comfortable position, and relax as much as possible. Also make sure to keep breathing. If you're like me, severe pain makes you want to hold your breath, so breathing becomes a conscious thing you have to do.

Also, remember that it is just a matter of time before this will all be over. Knowing all these pains are worth it and they will soon be over makes it a little easier for me...hope it works for you, too.

:)

I think it's called SPD too. But, I've got it too. I'm 35 weeks now, but I started experiencing it at about 30 weeks too.

This is my second pregnancy but this pain is new to me lol. look up PGP or PSD in pregnancy i think it is either or .... I also find that a nice warm bath before bed really helps :)
