Heartbeat in early ultrasound?

I found out 2 weeks ago! I have been excited and nervous. This is my first. I had my first u/s today, I expected to see a heartbeat... and instead we heard it! I have read the heartbeat will not be heard until later. So it was definitely a great surprise!!!

My first ultrasound with my son was at 5 weeks and 4 days, you couldn't see the heartbeating because he was too small but they picked it up by internal ultrasound and the heartbeat was 92bpm.

This baby I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks 2 days and you could visibly see the heart beating away at 109bpm - that was without an internal ultrasound. I think it depends on the technology being used, how far along you are, and to remember every baby is different.

I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks and a couple days. I measured a week behind and saw the little flicker of the heart beating. It was a great relief to me because I have had two previous miscarriages.

My first ultrasound was the end of June to make sure it was just one (had twins in the past) and I seen the heart flicker but my PreNatal in July...14th... they found the heartbeat on the lil dopler thing... pretty cool... nurse said its very rare to hear the heartbeat b4 10 weeks....

I had my first u/s at 6 weeks, and had a heartbeat. I have had 2 more since then, and have had very strong healthy beats =) I get to sneak in for extras because one of my b/f's sisters is the nurse for my ob/gyn. Yippee!!

i had my ultrasound at 6weeks nd 6 days and i seen the heart beating.... it was adorable but a blessing since my last child i lost due to no heartbeat.... sure glad im now almost 15 weeks and baby is looking gr8 and hearting the heart beat is such a releif....

I know this is really late, but I saw mine at 5 1/2 weeks. We couldn't hear it but the dr. turned on the inferred and we could see the heat change, he said that was the heart beat. it even showed up in my first sono pic.

hi, I have heard you don't see the heartbeat until around 6 weeks and 3 days - and even then they may ask you to come back. I saw mine last week at 6 weeks 3 days and they want me to come back in two weeks. Not worried 'cause everything looked as it should be. Take care and don't worry.

My fingers are crossed for you Tamara. I am going for my first on Tuesday - I should be 6wks 2days so I am hoping that all is on track too. I had two losses confirmed via ultrasound - so I am really really nervous

I don't know how I feel about getting an ultrasound in 12 days. The last ultrasound we had our babies heart had stopped and that is when we found out. It will be scary to go in, but probably great by the time I walk out.

Hi, I saw my hb at 6 weeks 3 days - though slow (which was ok), go back for another u/s in two weeks. The longer you leave it the better.

Just had one done today and couldn't see it we are 6 wk 6 days. I was worried (I have PCOS) so the did a vaginal one and HOLY MOLY! It was beating soooo loud--def felt better after that :)

The earliest I've seen a heat beat was at 7 wk 2 dys. I never had one done earlier so I don't know.

I had my first u/s yesterday and by the measurements we were at 6wks 1day (thought we were 6wks 5days). Anyhow we were able to see the heartbeat and it was measured at 125 beats per minute.

I had an u/s at 6 weeks and we could just barely see the heartbeat. It was a small flicker but it was there. At 7 weeks we saw it really strong.

I go to babycenter.com a lot and you can track your pregnancy week by week and see what the baby looks like. it says that by 8 weeks the baby's heart is beating twice as fast as the moms

You may or may not see the heartbeat. I had a u/s at 5 weeks and they could not find the baby. But I think they were looking for the actually looking for the baby and not just a sack. They said my hCG levels were high enough for a 9 week pregancy.

I had an ultra sound at 8 weeks and saw the heart beat, from what ive read i think the heart should be beating at 6 weeks
