I am having severe car seat dilemmas. This is the car seat I have now-
I absolutely hate this car seat, it's just such a pain in the butt. I can never get it in my car properly without having it wedged against the front seat, which in the instructions it says it shouldn't be touching. The headrest won't fit on the top, there's not enough room in my car for it and with his height the headrest should be on it now. The harness is a PAIN to adjust... Bah, in general, I'm not a fan of this car seat.I'm sure in a newer car it works great but in my older car, not so much.
So obviously, with these flaws, it's not as safe as it should be. Anyone have any good recommendations for carseats that work well with cars that don't have the LATCH system?
For reference, my baby boy just turned 1. =) I've thought about flipping it forward facing but I want to keep him rear facing as long as possible- hence why I have such an expensive car seat. :P But unfortunately, if it's not in there properly, it's not as safe as I want it to be anyways.
I've been googling this on the internet for a week now and haven't come up with many answers. I've been looking at different carseats but it's so hard to tell which ones will work well in older cars. I drive a 1996 Buick Century. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have an appointment with a car seat technician next month, but that carseat is driving me nuts, I don't know if I want to wait that long if he's not as safe as he should be in it.
