Has anyone else gone to a regular OB checkup and had an irregular heart rhythm show up? My OB has said that it isn't anything to worry about and so did the perinatologist (who we're scheduled to do a fetal echocardiogram on Dec. 9th.)

I've found a lot online saying the same thing, just would like to hear about someone else's experience.

my daughter wouldn't gain weight after birth and one of the things they did was send her to a cardiologist for a sonogram of her heart. The doctor there told us she had a normal heart murmur that alot of children have when born and will outgrow it by the time she is in school.

Most heart murmurs are innocent. I was born with heart murmur and had to have loads of checkups when i was younger as it didn't disapear straight away. But most innocent heart murmurs disapear within the 1st year. I can still hear my murmur, especially now i'm pregnant. But i've been told it's nothing to worry about so i'm not worrying. It's worse this time round than with my 1st. An innocent heart murmur isn't anything serious and i hope everything is fine with your little one.

My son was diagnosed with a heart murmur... nothing to be scared about. Many children are born with this and sometimes they close up as they get older. The doctors thought that my son's would close up, but he's 3 now and it's still there. Doc says that he's perfectly fine and that this wouldn't cause any life threatening problems. :)

Good Luck with everything and I'm sure your Dr. told you that many babies are born with murmurs and they outgrow them within 6 months of age I was one of those babies so I would not stress about it I'm sure your little angel will be just fine

Well, after much prayer with our friends and family we didn't hear any murmur this past Wednesday, Dec. 2nd at the regular OB appointment. We are still praying that there is nothing wrong with our Margaret Claire on Dec. 9th.
