Oh, Hun, this is tragic and I will pray for you and your baby. It's bad enough that your child is sick, but you're getting a divorce on top of it - stress that you don't need in your life. Just keep your head up and pray. I am also going through a divorce right now. My husband left me when I was 2 months pregnant - no money, no car, no home, nothing...So, stay positive and strong and you will get through this :D

Hi Alyssa. My prayers and thoughts are with you. What is your sons name? My friends baby was born at 1lb too and is now home and fine. God is good. Pray to him and ask for his support. I know how stressful you must feel. My baby was kept in hospital for a week after birth with a blood infection and it stressed me so much, so I can only imagine how stressed you feel. Talk to as many people as you can and take comfort in what they say. My husband and I will offer all of our prayers up for you and your son. Stay positive. xxxx

My thoughts are with you.. now I don't know all the details about your marriage but to be going through this difficult time with your son and now your husband is abandoning you at such an important time in your life just sounds unfair! I know surgery is the last thing you want but if your son has fought this hard to be here then blindness is just something you will work through if the time comes. Hi my name is terra my son was born at 25 weeks and he was on the breathing tube for the hole time he was in there and he was to be born on marh 25, 2007 but he came out dec, 10, 2007 but he doing good now and he is 2 years now he got a lot of people come to my to help him. Alyssa, we have this in common. We have had horrific and tramatic starts to our new life with our precious sons. I am sorry you have been under so much stress, sorrow and pain. I will pray for you. I can't imagine what you must be feeling--I am so sorry. My son was in the NICU for 18 days and it nearly drove me crazy. I am glad your little boy made it through his birth, though it sounds like he has some challenges ahead. It's understandable that you want him home, but just remember he's where he needs to be right now. It's terrific news that he's gaining weight! I'll be thinking good thoughts that he comes home soon.

When I'm feeling overwhelmed and helpless, I refer to 2 Corinthians 12:9: "And He said unto me, 'My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
