Thank you very much for your commenst and suggestions. We dont have Air ducts we have radiators and no air conditioners in right now. she seems to have allergies though right now. she has started eating some and not as cranky. we shall see in the coming months how she is. I hope your little girl is better soon. good luck

Racheal, I am so sorry that she is so sick all of the time. My youngest is just like that she has missed 75 days of Kindergarden this year. When she gets sick it is like 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Will wake up in the morning with a runny nose, fever at noon admitted by five with pnemonia. The only thing that I have done to try to help is giving her probiotics it does help because she doesn't get a lot of the common colds just the stuff that seems to effect her lungs and ears.
She has a sedated MRI on Wed. and she is having her first surgery the following Wed. The are putting tubes in her ears, removing her tonsilse and atnoids. I hope this helps but I don't know. Keep you head up and keep taking her to doctors until you get answerr. It might take awhile but you will find out. Also my daughter sees pulmanary maybe that will help as well.
I can make a couple of suggesttion for your house that I do. I know money is tight but maybe when you get on your feet some more it might be something for you to do. I change the air filter on the ac unit every week to keep as much dust out of the air as possiable. I have a guy come out every two monthes to clean all the air ducts so that there is nothing in the vents floating around. I also have invest in air purifiers for every room in the house.

She has Carnation Instant breakfast drinks atleast 2 times a day t see if it helps her gain weight if she hasnt put on weight by her 15 month check up they may put her back on formula. Also no tubes yet they have to see how her ear drums heal then we will see if she needs anything else. Thank you for your posts everyone

About your daughters eating... is she still drinking ok? Have you talked to the Dr about maybe some sort of fluid nutrition you could give - like those pediasure drinks or ensure or what ever they are that are to be given between meals... if she would drink those would that maybe help. Sometimes they make special milkshakes etc for them to drink - maybe they have some sort of recipie they could give you. That's sad, don't worry some of them do lose interest in food and if she is teething and not feeling well she may not want to eat much. Her ears are hurting so drinking or swallowing will hurt too. I know with one of Allies bad ear infections we had to give so many mls of fluid every 30 minutes because she refused to eat. She had become so dehydrated (idiots at the ER said she wasn't only to find out 3 hours later at the DR office she was) she was almost hospitalized but we finally got her back on track. I hope she gets to feeling better. As for her weight my daughter at her 1 yr check up was a little under what the Dr said he would have liked her to be. He said usually like to see them gain a pound per month alive but all babies are different. She is healthy and very proportinate so he didn't see any problems. Everyone says she is "small" but she is a hoss and will clean the fridge out if you aren't careful... then some days its just a few bites here and there. Really hope she starts feeling better. Did they put tubes in her ears yet?

Aww poor baby. I hopeshe gets better it is hard having a sick kid. my sister almost lost my nephew to RSV at the same time my daughter had it.They had to intibate him.I hope spring and summer are better for you all.

I am so sorry you have had such a hard time. We have had a horrible winter as well. Both my girls have been sick very sick on and off. My now 14 month old is 17 lbs and had tests at the hospital done due to her being below 3rd percentile in weight and height but she eats fine so it is a concern. She has had so many ear infections we have talked about tubes with doctor, we thought we might lose her to RSV when she was 3 weeks old ( very horrible)..both her and my older daughter have been on antibotics so many times this winter and spring I could cry. Right now I am sick with sinus infection, bronchitis, asthma. My daughter ( 4 year old almost) was put on breathing treatments right away and our little one who gets sick and losses weight so often has medicine as well :(
I hope and pray April spring time bring syou health...so far it hasnt in our home either and its overwhelming I understand that a lot.

I really have been crying for you as I read your story and everyone's comment. You are very strong to even write this story. I have my share of issues with work and sick child but nothing close to your trials. I am praying for you. i wish there was something I could do. Continue to keep your sprits up because I know that does affect the child and continue to be the loving Mom you are. One way or the other things will work out and you will be able to look back at how you guys made it through this. Your strength is encouraging and I thank you so much for posting. Again my prayers are with you and your family

Thank you Diane. my problem with her size is that she is not eating at all. she will take a bite of something and immediately spit it out. she used to eat but not any more. we are working on trying to get her to eat more and getting her to gain or atleast maintain her weight. My daughter is 14 months old and weighs 20lbs or so. She too has had her share of pneumonia, bronchitis, croup and any respiratory illness you can think of and she almost went a whole 2 weeks of having a fever over 39 degrees celcius. We have spent a lot of time in emergency rooms as well as couple day stays in the hospitals. So I can imagine what you are going through. But I would just like to say that that even though many people think and say that my baby is small, truth is I have never really heard a doctor say it. Sometimes I think when we see other babies that are big we too expect that our baby should be a bigger size. I have an older daughter as well and even at 6 years old she weighs about 40lbs or so (tall and skinny, she wasn't one of the pudgy babies as well and I don't recall a time she was sick as a baby except for the little cold once or twice, nothing compare to my 14 month old now). I have never smoked, drinked or did drugs of any kind (I never even took tylenol for headaches or drank coffee or pop), during both of my pregnancies. When I was in nursing I do recall, depending where you live of course....if you have long winters and not out of the house very much during that time....babies do lack vitamin D without that exposure to the sun (and I guess it depends if you are breastfeeding or not, if you are they usually will recommend that you give baby vit D).
Anyway....I really do hope your baby gets better with the warm season coming up, I am sure she will :) and I wouldn't worry too much about the size, I mean that is if she eats and drinks okay (my pediatrician actually told me that he always thought my babies were good sizes, that he didn't like seeing really huge babies, especially with diabetes being so high in children and statistics to prove that). Our pediatrician also told us that he even thought they put the average weight for a baby (given the ages) a little too high. Again hopefully the tests come out well for you guys, and sorry to read about the loss of jobs. I hope and pray things will turn around for you guys.

Thank you for your comments and concerns. This past saturday my little girls ear drums burst. They put her on antibiotice and ear drops. also we are trying to get her about 17lbs she just wont gain weight and if she does she loses it right away. they dont know about allergies and havent done tests though seeing has her father and i both have quite a few allergies she may get some too. As far as our jobs we lost the cleaning contract we had and then completly lost our jobs. my boyfriend is getting unemployment but it wont be enough so i an going to try to get cash assistance until we can find jobs again. I dont like the idea but i have to keep a roof over my kids heads and dont have anywhere to go if we lose our house. We are putting in applications in everyday for jobs just waiting to see if someone responds. Thank you again for responding to me

I am so sorry you are going through all of that. Have they looked at allergies (ears) Our daughter has had 2 super ear infections that our Dr said were caused by allergies. Hubby says he thinks it is a Juniper tree outside - he wants to cut it down since he gets URIs from allergies too. They put her on Benadryl everyday and she has been good. She isn't sick that often but nose and throat always running or stuffy until lately when we started the allergy meds. No allergies to food though.

As for your jobs don't know what happened but if it was due to medical care for your child get proof and file for unemployement some places will approve it some wont but it could be a start for help.

im so sorry to hear this rachel. my son also had rsv and pneumonia when he was very little but since then we have been very lucky. i cant imagine what u must b going thru but i hope things get better really soon and that she is ok!!!!! thinking of u ♥

Poor you :( You're really going through it, I really really hope your little girl gets better soon, and that her hearing isn't affected. There's nothing worse than your baby being ill and there's nothing you can do to help. Good things go to good people so i really hope your luck picks up soon! Take care, Maria x
