How does everyone comfort their little ones, when they are sick. Being that there are no cold meds that you can give to you baby.

Like Taylor said, Baby Vicks works great for unclogging the nose and chest. Its a much more mild version of the adult Vicks and its safe to use on baby's chest. It did wonders for my baby girl when she was coughing.

You can get vicks and karvol plug in's which have helped my daughter alot during the night to breath more easily and you can also get baby vapor rubs which are also good in the night and daytime too.

saline drops + bulb syringe for stuffy nose
cool-mist humidifier helps for easier breathing at night
vicks baby rub on the bottom of the feet before bed, then covered with socks or footed pajamas works GREAT for night time cough!

Bridget, if your little one has a blocked or runny nose, you can get saline nasal sprays or drops - and the salt content helps clear the airways. You can also buy room vapourisers which can help clear snuffles during the night. You can also give your baby Calpol or Baby Paracetemol to ease a high temperature.
If you baby is feeling hot, you can rub their forehead/ back with a tepid flannel (not cold, as this can make small babies go into shock).
You can also put a pillow under your babys mattress to elevate their top half slightly.... but lots of cuddles are the best possible medicine.
My gorgeous girl is now going through cold number 4 - so I'm getting a dab hand at dealing with them and making my angel as comfy as possible.
Hope these options are helpful to you - please let us know how your little one gets on.
Best wishes
Sheila

Normally they mainly need their Mums comfort all the time. You can get paediatric nose drops to help with the mucous, but not too often. If there is a fever or cough associated with it, best take baby to the doc.

I just treat the symptoms. Like if she has a runny nose, I make sure I keep up ion suctioning it! Usually it's just sleep on Mommy or she has to be in my lap ALL the time when she doesn't feel good! lol

I know the feeling. I had to send my daughter to the hospital on Halloween because she was running a fever of 103 and it wouldn't go down. Found out she has Pneumonia. She has been screaming and crying for days. And i have been letting her sleep with me and i hold it quite a bit. It is hard, but you just need to find something that will entertain your little one. A humidifier can help at night for the baby to breath better, its what i am doing.
