My son is just over 10 months old and since he was like 5 months or so we have had him in his jumper thingy, he was always on his tippy toes even if you adjusted the jumper he would find a way to jump on his tippy toes, and/or the knuckle of his toes. I am kind of concerned about this as when I assist him to walk around the house he is still walking on his toes, has anyone ever been through this? My doctor told me when he was younger that jumping on his tippy toes was fine nothing to be concerned about, but now I'm not too sure.

My son has never had a jumpy thing and he's been early with everything, including standing without support, but he mostly walks on tippy toes when I walk with him. They usually walk between 10-18 months, so I don't think you need to worry. He's just not ready yet. :)

My son is 10months old and he started using his jumper from a very young age. I noticed he would always be on tippy toes when I stood him up and asked my nurse about it...she said to lay off the bouncer as it can damage the ligaments at the back of the foot (in the archilles area). She advised that I massage that area and gently bend his feet back and forth to stretch the ligament. He still does stand on his tippy toes the majority of the time but also goes flat footed now too. He hasnt started walking on his own yet but we he does Im hoping he doesnt prance around on his toes hehe

I am 29 years old and I did the tippy toes thing until I was about 7 years old. My feet are normal. I remember my parents putting hard bottom shoes on me to get me to stop, but I always took them off. It wont damage his feet if thats what you are asking.

my daughter is 10 months and did this for awhile. she did it mostly when she first started pulling up to stand/cruising. like on her tippy tippy toes, she did it for 3 months or so, but now she hardly ever does it. i think it's just a phase until they get used to standing and realize they have better balance flat footed

My 8 year old used to do it and now my 10 month old does it too. I think for them it's just a natural and comfortable thing.

Yep, my son does it too. If I put him in shoes then he will walk/jump etc flat footed.

Hey! My daughter does the same thing also, and as well in her jumper. I was concerned as well when walking her around the house, etc. but then I spoke with my sister-in-law (my husband's brother's wife) lol and she said that her daughter (who is just 2 months older then my daughter) did the same thing for a long while but has passed that phase. So hopefully soon my daughter will start using her feet properly too. I also did some research on it, and not sure if you've tried this but they say when you are helping him/her walk around the house to have them in bare feet- helps them get used to the feel of their feet on flat surfaces and use their whole feet rather then just the toes!! haha Good luck, and have fun! :)

I've seen him go flat footed sometimes not very often, I try to stretch out his feet and stuff when he is sitting on my lap or whatever and it doesn't seem to bother him. I hope he is okay

as long as your child is able to stand flat footed you should be fine. My 7 year old was not due to never stretching the muscle. She had to get braces to make her walk flat footed. Make sure you keep those muscles loose so as to avoide any issues down the line!

If I remember correctly I dealt with the same concern with my first child. For a long time into his toddlerhood he was walking on his toes. Our doctor told us that it is perfectly normal and all children walk on their toes first. So yeah, nothing to worry about at all.
