Tips for sleeping through the nights & good routines??

My son is 4 months and still waking up every 4-5 hours during the nights.
i will give him the bottle and he only drinks 40mils so i guess he cant be that starving...i have tryed giving him water or rocking him but he still wants a bottle then i find its hard to burp coz he goes back to sleep but wakes up 1-2 hours later in pain any tips??
also does anyone have a good routine? i am struggling with that what time is the right time for bed?
my son is 17 weeks and only drinking 120mils what are your bubbys drinking at that age

Avoid giving him water as it makes him think he's full but isn't. I give a smaller feed (4oz) before that last feed of the night so that she is hungry and has a full bottle before bed (6oz at 10:00pm) so she is content through the night. I sometimes mix a tiny amount of rice cereal in her night bottle when she appears to be going through a growing spurt and the milk alone doesn't seem to satisfying. Also, playtime and a nice warm bath each night always helps!



A fantastic book for schedules/advice is The New Contented Little Baby by Gina Ford. The book was refered to me by several friends/co-workers who swore by it. People laughed when they I mentioned trying to put our baby on a schedule but after what I went through with my first baby, I figured anything was worth a try...let me tell you, it works and I have a fantastic, contented 3 month old baby girl to prove it! She's terrific both day and night and has been sleeping through the nights for the past month. If you would like me to email you the detailed daily schedule to you for the 4-6 month old, let me know.

My daughter is only 14 weeks but is sleeping well at night (usually 10 - 11 hours). I make sure that I feed her every 3 hours during the day so she has a nice full tummy by the time night time comes. I then give her a bath at 6:30, a massage, a bottle and then bed by 7ish. I was told to work out what to feed bubs you multiply his weight by 150 and then divide by the number of feeds he has a day. For me it's 150 x 5.8kg / 5 bottles. She doesn't wake thorughout the night anymore. Also, make sure he doesn't sleep past 5pm of a day. Try and have longer sleeps in the morning and only short naps in the arvo. Is this why Chloe sleeps well? Not sure but anything is worth a try yeah? Good luck Rebekah
