This may sound dumb, but how can you tell if the baby is hiccuping or just moving around inside you?

For me, the hiccups felt like strong flutters and they happen a few minutes at a time. Sometimes they tingle. Mine started around my 6th month. You'll definitely notice a difference!

Usually, hiccups are rhythmic and last for a few minutes. Unlike regular movement which may stop when you change positions, hiccups don't stop when you change positions. Generally, the movement you see in your belly is throughout your entire belly...normal movements don't usually move your entire belly (but they can if the bugger is strong enough!).

You'll know the difference. It's a constant pattern of thumping. My first child had them all the time, so far I haven't felt them with this baby. My first still gets the hiccups all the time. :-)
