Words are slowly developing, but sound so funny! I have been able to make out, Ry Ry for our dog Rylie, and Bu Bu for her bottle and I could of swore, and even my mom heard her say her own name the other day! haha So cute. Her name is Ariana, and it came out kind of like A-E-NA. Love it.

Whats words are your babies trying to say!!??? :)

forgot to say one thing which drove me insane - NO. That was his new favourite word the other week, i think because he saw my shocked reaction so he thought it was good to say no ALL the time! He's stopped saying it this week thankfully :)

Lots of little chatterboxes around isnt there.
Our little man says dad, dadda & daddy, mum & mumma, up, hey, baba (bye) mahmah (milk), dadnan (his pa) nanna/nan (but my mum is granny so we are trying to get him to say gran he can say g (said like in girl) and hes managed g-nan, hello (he puts his hand to his ear to say it, like hes on a phone), baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (for bath, and yes he says it that long), Ta, foo (for you), Ohhhhh, bunon (button), baby, bantit (blanket), ani (which is our cat), sass (other cat sapphi), he calls both our dogs oof-oof but he calls my mums dog kaai (kali), he also says what's it, did it, ahh go (all gone), upy days (upsy daisy). Ive been trying to teach him animal sounds, he's getting there but he seems to make his own up even though im teaching him something different. He snorts when I say pig (even though i teach him oink, hes snorted once and I called him a piggy so the snort has stuck with him), he says baa baa for sheep, wa wa (said like quack without the q/c/k) for duck, he clicks his tongue for a horse (again i teach him neigh, but when pa gives him horse rides he makes the click like galloping), and he says bow bow for cow (not sure where that came from).
He constantly has conversations with everyone, he never stops talking. He has said other things I just cant think of everything at the moment (its easy to remember when they only say one or two things).

Our cuties first word was hi-yi (North East UK dialect for hello!) then quickly followed by Dada (constantly!), then it seemed to take an age for Mama. Now she says Nana, Ga (granda), Tada - for bye. But she's got great understanding of her actions, environment and interaction with others.... I just hoot with her constant babbles, her pitch raises soo much it sounds like I'm getting told off - extra funny because her Nana taught her to finger point - hilarious.
Our gorgeous little ones all sound like they're coming on a treat....how wonderful xx

Our chatty Allie says so much and I think there would be more if I could understand it. She's got mum down! Dahh(dad) beAhh(bear) isss(this) uuh(up) eh-O(hello - and does it holding anything that lights up to her ear) nah(no) ah-lah-lah-lah(I love you... or that's what I think it is anyway ha ha ha) Love it babies are so stinking cute!

*Edited to add...

We figured out some of her babble... (guess it took us a bit to learn her language)

Deedle (Diesel our dog) Dough (dog) and there were some others like night night neh-neh oh and she loves to say Ohhh beebee when she huggs her stuffed animals.

I'm pretty sure one of my twins is trying to talk, although the other isn't. Fionn says something like 'up' and holds up his arms, and he says mmmmm when he wants something to eat, which is really cute! I think he's trying to say 'cat' as well. No mama yet!

our son can say mama, dada, he says nah for no, he tries to say knock knock, but it comes out funny. He has said love you a couple of times, but it comes out ove oo. And he said nah yeh, the other day for not yet, and they are so cute speech wise at this age. I wish he said more, but I'm not worried. My daughter didn't say much at his age and then at 19 mths. old she just started talking like she'd known how the whole time, but was just storing it away for the right time. Lol.

It looks like the girls are learning a lot quicker than the boys! Go girls!! I managed to get a momoma out of Kody today - best sound ever! I'm expecting a little girl now and i can't wait to see if she picks things up faster than Kody did... i reckon she will! Kody obviously takes after his daddy and the little miss will be clever like her mummy!! :P

I agree with Marie... NO MOMMY at all. I'm thinking it's an M thing since she says oh oh for cow but she says all kinds of animals sounds and her 2 favorite words are DOG and BALLOON... everyday there is a new one. She knows body parts too but doesn't say too many of them - Always so fun to hear what's going to come out next

my son doesnt really say anything a lot. He says booo for book i think and occassionally says mama and dada - but never does as if he were calling us or points and says mama. I swore he said deyee for his brother dylan but it was only once! I hope he picks up soon but he walked early and they say if they walk early they talk late and it was that way for my eldest. he was walking at 11 months. But once he started he picked it up very quickly!

aww yay i love when they start talking- my girl is 13 months- and off the top of my head she says-mama- dada- koko(grandad) ,nana- dogdog, kitty, bird, booboo (boobie) duckduck, car, pu(pukeko) melmo(elmo), ninnie(winnie), draw (strawberry) jooo(juice)
nana(banana) prepty(pretty) , flower, shower, yumyum, Ta, Up , Wala(koala) ,more- and ontop of that she also recognises all her body parts and points them out and says what they are when we ask her- eg- toes nose eyes hair ears belly knee fingers etc
so i think shes off to a great start- we try and tell her what everything is that she can see in her exploring day to day adventures- so she knows what alot of things are!
im soo proud of her for knowing the amount she does

My daughter babbles a lot and I try to be intentional with saying words. She tries sometimes to say them but Mama, dada and hi are her common words. hi is the clearest and most common word!

Someone else mentioned nodding. She does that a lot and dances, too!

My daughter actually isn't saying much for anything. The doctors told me if she doesn't pick up a few before her apointment at 15 months they want to put her into a birth to 3 program. She does mom, cannot say 'd' for dad. She understands when I say words to her but doesn't try to say them back. :( I am not too worried at this point she will come along at some point. It is so cute that yours is picking up so well.

Man, it seems like my daughter never shuts up, lol. She is saying a ton! She has about a 30 word vocabulary already! Its amazing, and pretty funny that you said Ry Ry because that is what my daughter calls her little buddy Ryan. She is starting to put other things together now too. She is saying Hi Kitty, Hi Mama, and Hi Dada now which is just the cutest thing and makes me giggle. And she is calling all of our cats Ginger and the way she says it is too cute! She also says things like Thank You and Good Girl then other 1 word things like doggie, kitty, duck, apple, up, apple, wa wa for water, she even calls me Ash because she hears the boys I nanny for call me that all day. She's hilarious! She seems to learn a new word everyday.. Recently daddy of course had to teach her the word poop! I was thrilled with that, let me tell ya, lol.. Guess that will come in handy during the potty training time, lol

My little daughter says Mama, Da. She also says what that, and right there while pointing at things. It is so neat to watch her she just stares at our lips sometimes to watch how we say things.

Awe, Ariana is such a cute name! I'd love my baby to say her name. That's amazing. :D

My daughter Emery-Taylor can say a few words. Ma-Ma, Da-Da, La-La (Which is what we call her Grandmother.) and her most favorite thing to say is "Hi!" She loves attention, and whenever we go out she's always waving and saying hi to everyone that passes by. It's really funny. And if someone didn't see her or walks by she'll yell until they look at her hahaha!

She just learned how to nod a few weeks ago, and she does it when she hears music or eats something yummy. It's really cute.

Our son says "ah-dah" for "all done" when he's ready to get down from his high chair. He also says mama, dada, and up. Other than that, he doesn't say much, at least not consistently.
