My son has had problems with his bowel movements since shortly after we started solids. I noticed a difference after we tried applesauce and then banana's (the applesauce he was on for a little while actually before we tried another fruit). His BM's are hard. At first I thought it was because he wasn't getting enough veggies or fruit after trying to increase those I booked an appointment with my doctor, who I can't see until the 24th. So my husband and I decided to take him to emerg. The doctor there said it was because of the fruit, that fruit in young babies can be hard to digest. Has anyone else heard this? A week later I was talking with a dietician who said the fruit is what makes it soft. (Although it doesn't explain why the prunes didn't work, but his BM's haven't really become soft since stopping the fruit either.) Any suggestions?
