and, i know someone who took some lastnight, and had her baby perfectly fine, healthy. no meconium nothing. my mom also did it with my brother 20 years ago, again perfectly healthy, no meconium. they say to take the castor oil if your overdue, and a lot of babies who are overdue tend to have their first bowel movement in uturo anyways.. the castor oil doesnt go to the baby..

PS i asked for EXPERIENCES not OPINION on the matter. thanks

BTW Kate also posted something about breast not being better than the bottle so I am not so sure I'd listen to her about anything.

Wait, what?! I'm pro breast feeding...I'm actually nursing my son right now. What the hell are you talking about?

Have you heard about there being pressure points on the foot that can induce labor? Just saw it on the Doctors you should look it up that seems like a better option. Then there are the other tricks like eating fresh pineapple etc...

pooping for hours.. ok.. considering i never said i was planning on taking it.. and ya if someone writes a experienc, and leaves an opinion like "i would never do that again" or whatever thats completely diffrent then someone leaving there opinion again and again about how bad it is and blah blah blah............i dont get why you keep going with this.. you said all you needed to say the very first message you wrote. now this is just annoying.. ......

Well, have fun pooping for hours on end. And inducing labor in any way, shape, or form is dangerous to a degree. The safest thing for mom and baby is to let baby come on their own.

And too bad about not wanting opinions. That's pretty much what everyone's experiences are going include: opinions.

I hate to admit it but I tried it with my first and went into labor 2days later, not sure if that's why bc I could only keep it down for about 30mins. my friend recommended it she's a nurse and said it only works if you take it during contractions even if they are the fake kind.

I have tried it twice now, the 1st time I had some contractions but not much else. I tried again yesterday and once again nothing, guess my little man isn't ready yet. You will get some BM's but depends on how your body copes with it. It tastes like crap and smells funny too.
Drink plenty of water before and during. I did alot of reaserch about it and found that most docs don't mind if you use it because it doesn't pass over bubs at all.

It's dangerous and doesn't always work. You run the risk of becoming severely dehydrated, exhausted, and not end up in labor any way. There is also an increased risk of the baby passing meconium into the amniotic fluid due to the stress caused by the effects of the castor oil. I know how tiring it is to be pregnant and this close to the end but it's best to let baby come on his or her own. And BELIEVE me, I KNOW how badly you want to get this over with: I was in labor for 6 days (REAL labor) before my son was born.

I havent tried it myself. Hear its more a laxative. Says not to take it until near due date. Can cause nausea, diarrea, stomach upset, etc. and tastes awful! Just do your research and try if you want.
