Just wanted to know how often you bathe your baby? Do you bathe them every day? Every other day? Or Twice a week??

I bathe both my boys every few days. All our family suffer from varying degrees of eczema and too much washing is actually bad for our skin. We use ph balanced soaps with moisturisers and add lotion to they're skins as and when they feel dry and scaly.

When my daughter was born, I was a new mother, I'd never been around babies before and I was totally clueless and so was my husband. The little thing was so helpless and fragile looking to me. I could handle every aspect of her care, but the bath literally terrified me. I would make the trip to visit my own mother twice a week and she would bathe her for me. So, that's how it was the first year of my daughter's life. As time went on, I gained more confidence and once she learned to sit and stand on her own, I was able to get a daily bathing, with a hair wash twice a week. She's now almost 3 and likes to take showers too!

I bath my daughter (9 weeks) every other day. i did with boy my boys too. if you bathe daily you wash all the natural oils from their skin. obviously if they get milk around their neck or a very messy nappy then a bath won't hurt but in general terms every other day, same as my boys. bath days are sunday, tuesday, thursday, and possibly saturdays depending on what the boys have been up to... ie, playing in the garden.

I bathe her every few days or as needed. If she is spitting up a lot, then a bathe is needed! :) ... as long as you are using a chemical free body wash it is harmless to your sweet baby :)

My daughter 8 and son 2 get baths every other day unless they were outside getting really sweaty or muddy.
The newborn though gets a bath 2-3 times a week. Anymore is if he has a blow out in his diaper. Little babies really don't need more but if you feel like it helps them sleep or soothes them go for it.

Everyday...:) I believe its important for a baby to be feel fresh. Also bathing a baby makes baby feel more relaxed and will help them sleep for longer.

At least 3-4 times a week. If she poops or pee's through her diaper I'll bathe her but it usually ends up being 3-4 times a week. I also have 2 boys (3 & 5), they bathe every other day so sometimes its hard to get everyone on a bath schedule!

I bathe him every night. I do this because he goes to daycare and I am hoping to prevent germs but prior to daycare we did it every other day or if he had a spit up incident.

I bathe my little one every other day. I have done so since we came home from the hospital. She loves bath time! I try to do it around the same time every evening and have found that it makes bedtime so much easier. She seems to sleep much better those nights as well

I bathe my girl every 3-4 days. I just use a warm towel to wash up and get the milk under her neck everyday. There is really no need to bathe a newborn everyday.

I bathe both of my kids on Wednesday nights (because its my husband's night off work) and Saturday nights so they are clean for church. And then if they need it between or if my 3 year old daughter asks for a bath, I will give them one.

I bathe my son every night. He spits up a lot so it gets in the rolls of his neck, gets kinda smelly even if I use a wipe to clean him. Occasionally we skip a day but normally it is every day.

My doc told me, and I've found out with my other two that bathing them everyday is not good for their skin. I have had 3 doctors and 4 nurses say that every 3 to 6 days is fine. As long as you are washing their bottom properly at changing then they should be fine. And By the way urine is sterile so if they don't poop you don't even NEED to wipe. (I did not say don't do it I said it's not needed)
And in defense of Kate she what just trying to give so educated info for new moms out there who may not know any better. It never hurts to have more information. No one was "going all out at you" she was just trying to give information to people who may not have it.

Kayden gets a bath every 2nd to 3rd day. All depends how smelly he gets LOL! That sweet baby smell starts to go away and its time for one. He loves bath time too! And its fun for me as well. And nice bonding time for us too :)

You going all out at me is ridiculous. You clean yourself with a wipe and see how clean you are. I bathe my daughter every single night, always has since ghe was born. You clean your babies your way and I'll keep cleaning mine my way. Cetaphil's the only thing she could use with her skin issue, if you bother reading up. And soapy water-duh that's what taking a bath does, and anything can go in their eyes if not careful, which I am. This is for answering her question, not bashing my answer on how I take care of my daughter.

when i took my son in for his two week checkup, my dr asked me how often a young infant needed to be bathed. i said every two to four days. and his response was, and i quote,"technically never. what do they do to get irty?" he proceeded to tell me that theres nothing wrong with bathign a young infant to make yourself feel better, BUT there's no reason to bathe them, especially everyday. a washcloth under the neck, around the diaper area, face, and hands is sufficient. especially if you clean them properly at diaper change time. me personally, i have a tthree year old, 14 month old, and a 2 1/2 month old. he oldest two get a bath every other day, and the baby every 4 days. on days they dont get bathes, they all get hands, faces, diaper areas (my three yo is potty trained, but i still wipe his too), and feet wiped down

I see no reason for bathing my children every day. Children being in diapers or underwear makes no difference to the situation. Their bums should be clean if you wipe it when changing/using the toilet. Maybe I'm just crazy, but when there's milk in my baby's neck rolls, I wipe it up with a receiving blanket or wipe. Every 2-3days is fairly efficient. Babies and children don't sweat to create the same body odour as teens and adults.

Jole: We're talking about a newborn baby, here. They don't need to be bathed that frequently at such a young age. Especially since whenever they have a dirty diaper most people use a wipe to clean them off before putting a new diaper on. So it's not like they're wallowing in their own filth all day long. And cetaphil isn't really good to use on such a young infant who has a tendency to get soapy water in their face.

I bathe my daughter every day if she is awake before bed, but I wont let her go more then 2 days. Her hair gets oily and she always gets milk in her neck! before she was 2 months tho I did every other day. I read that at 2 months you can "practice" your bedtime routine if they are awake for bed time

I say everyday. Would you want to be in a diaper all day and not get a bath for bed? My daughter's in underwear and has slightly sensitive skin. Get Cetaphil, has natural moisture and specifically made for those with bad or weak skin. My sister who has a skin disorder has it and she showers every single day. Just think of wearing a diaper with urine and feces and ask yourself if you're comfortable going to bed at night. I can't do that with Lillian and she's been in underwear for almost 9 mo now.

I go for every 2-3 days unless we have a major episode of poop or spit up. Its can dry out their skin if you athe them too often. My older ones are 4 and 2 and they still bathe twice.a week.

I try for every other day. Sometimes I'll do everyday or every 2 days. Depends on if he spits or poops all over himself or if he gets to dry. His Dr told me 2-3 times a week is all a baby needs.
