My g/g twins are turning 1 in Feb. party vs no party/themes/ideas

My g/g twins are turning 1 in Feb. I can't decide if i should have them a birthday party or just cake & pics at home. We have large family so no such thing as a small party with our families. If i do have them a birthday party IDK what to do? Any ideas? It is Feb so too cold or outdoors....If i have one I am planning on using Minnie Mouse & Daisy Duck theme since they aren't identical but thats about as far as i've gotten. I thought about having someone dress up as Minnie mouse and Daisy or maybe mickey and minnie but would that be wierd to have mickey if i did an exclusive minnie & daisy party? should i just do the clubhouse theme so i could have mickey & minnie and focus more on minnie & daisy? or should i have minnie & daisy mascots or should i just do minnie? should i even do a birthday party they're only going to be one.....I was orignally not planning on one at all but i have gotten so much grief from everyone about planning on not doing on that i feel like i have to do one. don't want them to hate me when they are older for not having them a first birthday party......then should i have it a place with inflatables etc so the older kids (cousins) will have something to do too or not worry about the older kids having something to do since it is for my 1year olds not the older kids? i'm horrible at decisions!!!!!

Hello, I am doing a Winter ONEderland theme for my girls who turn 1 on Feb 12. We are having a pink and white theme and serving chili, pigs in a blanket, hot chocolate bar and a few other snacks. I am having the party at our church so it is free. I am throwing the party more for the adults than the babies. (Even though I know they will have fun.) The first year of a baby's life is rough and a HUGE adjustment. The first birthday is a celebration not only of your little one's life but that the parents survived the first year! So YES have a party. Plus, the more people you have to the party the more awesome toys and clothes your babies will get! Sounds a little selfish but what baby couldn't use more clothes? :-)

Maybe it is because I like planning parties, maybe it is because I LOVE our theme or I am just thankful I made it through the first year with twins but I am SUPER excited about my girls' birthday. It is going to be a blast. Good luck in your planning.

Hi-
I am going to throw my little guy a one year party. Partly because I love throwing parties. For my older son when he turned one I had a puppy theme since he loves dogs. We had the party be an open house where people could stop by from 3 to 6 pm for example and had snacks and cake and ice cream. I think you can keep it pretty simple because your kids will be overwhelmed with all that is going on. The other benefit of having a party if the pictures for the scrapbook.
