New Mom!! My 14 month old son has a fever and I need help!

I am a young mother all on her own and I really need some help on what all I could do to help fight off my son's fever. My baby has had a fever before, but he's never felt so hot before and he just threw up, which scared me and made me feel terrible that he's going through this. :( His temp. is currently 101.4 F*. I've given him Triaminic Fever Reduce medicine and it didn't really seem to work all that well, would Tylenol be better? I'm trying to keep him cool and hydrated. What else should I do?

Hi! I have 7 children, but a young mother myself so I can relate to you somewhat. I remember being in your shoes, especially not having any help. Next time he gets a fever anything over 100. Notify babys' doctor immediately for instructions, dont try to handle it yourself and if told to you need to take your baby to the ER because it would be too far along for any medicine to take effect. Also, to prevent your baby from getting a high fever, if for some reason you feel your baby just slightly hot, give some baby tylenol right away. Try not to cover your baby up too much when he has a fever or it'll get worst just to cool the fever down. If there are signs of vomiting, it could be more serious so do not hesitate to take your baby to ER. I hope this helped and hope your baby boy is better now:)
