I was 38. We got started last though because I had to have fribroid removed to even be able to get pregnant. My son ended up being born 3 mos early. Initially I thought it was because of my age, but spending so much time in the NICU, I discovered that my age had nothing to do with him being born so early. It was guilt that I was able to let go of.

Hi Shelly.
Thanks for the post. I'm trying to offer up support for us moms because it seemed like there were so many 'flags' and labels placed upon me because of my age. And I wasnt someone that used fertility drugs to get preg. It was just how it happened.

I was 37 and delivered about 2 weeks before I turned 38. I was lucky enough to find a great mid-wife to work with me through my pregnancy and let go of the "high risk" talk just because I was over 35. My beautiful little girl came 2 weeks after her due date and had flipped to breech 3 days prior. Instead of having her at home we ended up with a C-section. We were both safe and healthy and she's just beautiful, so it was absolutely the way it was suppose to be.
