Hello all! I have a two month old son, and we are struggling with breastfeeding. I have been supplementing, and already have a unstable milk supply. So here is my question: Can I begin working out, I already walk every evening, but I want to start P90X or Brazilian Butt Lift, how do I do this without affecting my breastmilk?

Btw- weight watchers is a great diet & can be done while breastfeeding since it's well balanced. Check out their online program, it's convenient to do it from home. :)

When the body does a lot of very intense exercise, like heavy weight lifting, or speed sprinting, then lactic acid is produced as a by product, and this can alter the taste of BM for about 20 minutes post exercise. Some babies are finicky about this, others not.
But you need to be working out really hard to get significant amounts of lactic acid in the blood stream. As long as you stay in an aerobic zone that you feel is "somewhat" difficult, and don't get to the point of panting, then you don't need to worry about this.
But you do need to be eating enough calories to support BFing, that's the most important factor. And the most important factor for BM quantity, is suckling. Try BFing more often. Have you seen a lactation specialist? This might be the place to start.
