I am looking into gettiing an exercise bike to get some cardio. I have a problem knee andi love to walk but sometimes its hard on my knee. so i was thinking about the bike. Even if its raining i can still get the cardio, and watch my favorit shows-Ha Ha!!! I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas on equipment.

I recently started working out with some friends at college and I love the ellipticals. We did treadmills one day instead and my knees hurt afterwards. The elliptical didn't hurt and with the handles you get an arm workout too. I recently saw one listed on craigslist in my area very cheap.

How about an elliptical machine? That very closely mimics walking as you are standing, and not sitting. It is really easy on the knees since your legs move much like when you're peddling. Plus, your arms move too if you hold the arm handles. Prices have come down so much from when I bought mine years ago!

Hi Taryn, I have been working out with Gilad on the health/fitness chan. i really like his total body workouts they make me burn. But i am not good with keeping up with fast workouts that's why i am looking into the exercise bike. Do you own any equipment?

Hi Michelle!  Great job on looking for alternative ways to stay active with a bum knee!  In home workouts or growing with popularity due to the tanking economy.  Have you considering a home workout program, via DVD's?  I've got some great total body ones, all that can work around your knee issue.  Let me know if you'd like some suggestions!
