Hey girls. I'm new to the community, but this circle is of great interest to me. I love to work out. A friend and I work with a personal trainer and use kettle bells, plus regular outdoor activities with kids, etc. I enjoy running and simple, straight forward free-weight lifting.

On 11/19, a week before Thanksgiving, I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I'm recovering very well, feeling considerably better each day. Today, 7 days post-op, I got on the treadmill to test the fitness waters. I couldn't run... heck, I couldn't walk faster than 3.5 mph. But, I did manage to stay on for 48 minutes. Not bad.

Has anyone had any experience with this? If you have, for the sake of specifics, my doctor also used the da vinci robot to aid in the minimally invasive hysterectomy. Good times!

Had the davinci total hysterectomy, bladder repair and scar removal. Was interested in hearing about the healing progress in similar post op patients.

What exercises do you do beside walking?

Is your belly swollen?

I had a total complete hysterectomy at age 28 and they cut my tummy and gave me a muffin top so I really got depressed and ate brownies and gave up working out and bedroom activities (sorry TMI) so I balooned and now I am really wanting to get ME back!! I lost some just by cutting out the brownies lol and fast food but havent mastered the working out yet my muscles hurt in my stomach and its not so nice so good luck to you hope you have better luck than me!

Hello...It's been four years since my hysti...I too have gained weight and it trying to exercise. Sweets is my weakness. I was doing good earlier in the year I had lost six pounds only to gain 4 of them back, but it is a work in progress. I'm learning to watch my calories and what I eat. I excercise as best as I can. Start off by walking and gradually build up your activity. I'll let you know how I'm doing next week..

Well, I just had an abdominal hystectomy 3 weeks ago...but they had to do alot of repair work...so basically, I'm just walking upright & driving... I can walk once around the block every day....next week, I'll go to twice a day! It's gonna be slow!

But don't get frustrated the laparoscopic hyst. are sooo much better, (my sister just had one in Dec.) She recovered & was working out full speed again 2 months later!!

I had a partial hysterectomy 4/13/2009 and have only walked about every other day. The furtest probably 15 blocks. It was also done the da vinci method(robot) It is far superior to past laproscopic surgeries I have had. I also had a urine sling and rectocel repair done along with the hystorectomy. Mainly I'm sore and have fatique. I'm hoping that I bounce back quickly and can really begin exercising now that Spring has sprung!
